Street Racing & Kill Stories - Still in shock from this one!!!

I stopped at a red light on side of this yellow C5 corvette. I haven't had a race in a while so I gave him a little rev. He turned, looked at me and revved back. So I knew it was on like donkey kong. (LOL) The light turns green and I just kind of ease into it and blow past this guy by about 3-4 lengths.. I slow down and he gets on side of me and gives me a thumbs up. I start to merge onto the interstate and he gets right behind me. I get onto the interstate and he pulls next to be again and wanted to go from a roll. So I honk it off and we go. I start pulling him pretty hard with 2-3 lengths at 105-110mph. I looked over my shoulder and there is this black car that came out of no wheres. I didn't know what kind of car it was at first. The only thing I knew was I had my peddle to the floor and this guy was dead even with me.. So I slowed to about 75mph and so did he. I heard him get on it again so I put the peddle down again. I maybe pulled about 1/2 car on this guy and we where locked up again. I slowed down again to get off on my exit and so did he. He gave me a thumbs up and this smirk like (you wasn't going anywhere chump)! As he drives off I looked at the back of this car and the plate said Need4speed. This thing was a fucking Mazda speed3.. All blacked out.. It looked cool but it's still a fucking Mazda.. I was ready to set my car on fire. What the hell!!! Is there some new breed Mazda is putting out now that is making these cars mod freaks?? How could any mazda run with a 2002 full bolton, tuned, free mod, stalled Z28. My best track time was a 12.30 @110 with a 1.68 60ft . My car is a 2002 A4 Z28 with a 3500 PTC stall converter.
Please let me know what yall think. Should I beat the car with a large mall or set it on fire?? LOL..

well you knever know what people do to their cars i was watching a 4 door civic putting a hurting on some fast cars at the drags last night. if he upgraded the turbo and intake/exhaust and sprayed an 80 shot through that i would imagine that would be a fast car.

Hehe, you ran across a nicely built MS3 then. You shouldn't set it on fire, but just remember that Mazda has a few tricks up their sleeves when it comes to their 'performance' stuff. The regular Mazda3 handles like it is on rails, I know this cause I own one. Just wish it had more grunt.

The Speed3 is pretty stout once you get rid of the stock turbo, they run out of breath well before redline. You might have met up with a COBB tuned car, same guys that tune the Subaru crowd.

Not a bad little car. With some bolt ons, more boost (I forget if they can mess with the stock wastegate or if they just get a new one), fuel pump, and tune, they usually trap around the same mph you do. So, it's not surprising if he had those mods for him to be one step right behind you.

Yeah there was a mazda 3 out near me and he did a little bit of work to it I think he upgraded the turbo and just did full exhaust and other small boltons and a 75shot on it and that little fucker flys. I never raced him but I know he hardly got beat by a heads and cam ws6

I understand that there will be cars that can run with me or faster but a Mazda speed3!! I didn't go outside for 3 days. I locked myself in my room and gave :mad: eyes to the Camaro every time I looked at it. I haven't drivin the car since. Then to top things off I pulled up from work today and noticed that my drivers rear tire was kinda low and found a damn nail in it!!! :bang:

Well, best run has been 12.0@114, just never got a vid of that one. Haven't hit the track in really cool weather yet. Still on street tires, stock suspension, and gears. Recently added some Nitto's and sub frames.....but track got rained out today. 60's are 1.8/1.9. Bigger stall and 3.73's would put me well into this cam's powerband and probably shoot me towards mid 11's.

Also, car is full weight with my big 300lb ass in it. Check my fquick page for the 12.0 timeslip.

Damn, what was the DA that day? And what was his 60' time......just cause he has good DR's doesn't mean he can drive or the car is gauranteed to stick.

60ft was 1.98 and he was spinning pretty bad.. I think he has to much converter in that car. He is going to get the same converter I have and see if that helps.

MS3s are at least as capable as skittles. I would say more so. Little less aftermarket (right now) but a very good roll-on car. No real shame there since mods are unknown. Nice runs.

Sounds like lack of suspension mods or driver mod. Converter isn't probably the problem, he just needs practice. But hey....if he's getting rid of it.......let him know I'll take it off his hands :D

I'd say bolt ons go to the ms3, but being able to handle big power goes to the skittle. I've seen pics of the stock rods of the ms3.....skinny as hell. I believe owners are already having problems with stock internals when th hp starts reaching the 300whp range.

With the aftermarket availability out there and the huge step up in technology you won't be king of the street with anything less than ~650rwhp in an Fbody.

Heck, I can put a 500whp Honda together for $4000 nowadays, it's really not at all hard to go that fast anymore.

Jesus christ you guys...a bolt-on F-body is not the fastest car on the street. And just because it is an import doesn't mean you're going to win! I don't know why we just can't all respect each others vehicles and realize we are all just enthusiasts, and stop all this fuck Ford/Imports/(whatever) bullshit. Any car can be made fast, and just because it's faster than your car, doesn't mean yours sucks.

Unless she has some serious mods to that Tiburon, I'm gonna throw up the :bs: flag on that one... they're high 13s cars @ ~100mph bone stock, and any sort of modded one would be a mid 13s car. So she either raced a regular Mazda3 with exhaust or something, or she ran into the absolute shittiest driver ever.

for once i have to agree with the ford guy. even the little v6 tiburons run like 15.x's! there is no way she could even beat a stock mazdaspeed 3 miata.
and in no way do i like the miata but they are still respectable as that weight next to nothing.

It can be kinda easy to mistake a Mazda3 for a Mazdaspeed3 if you don't know alot of the differences.

And yes, the Speed3 guys are having problems with weak top ends. After the ~300hp mark, you need to start looking into updating the valvetrain, but there really isn't a whole lot of aftermarket support for that platform yet without spending big $$.

I think Cosworth did some work on the 2.3L used for Ford, and a few guys adapted a sweet looking intake, but they're no longer in production.

Manufacturers put on tiny turbos so that you have that "instant gratification" of the turbo spool, but the damn car peaks torque just after halfway through the powerband so the rest of the time power is starting to decrease.:eyes: Unfortunately the small ARs do not move air very well and it's just a huge restriction in the top end, add more boost is just adding more restriction because what goes in must come out. Most people don't seem to understand that though.

Thats true. My WRX was great off the line and was a blast...but from 60 to 110 it lost a lot of the WOW factor that I got at low speeds. The STI was a different story though.

The new Mazda3's can definitely roll out. I'm came across 2 of them so far, and both were right at my door until i shifted to third then would slowly pull away. Both cars had pretty loud turbo's too, so they must have upgraded from stock.
