Default Can I put this in a 96 T/A

Hello,

My tranny decided to grind into 1st along with 2nd now so its time to replace or rebuild.

I found a deal on a
89-96 ZF CORVETTE L98 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION NEW

MODEL : S6-40

PARTS LIST #: 1052 000 089

CUSTOMER SPEC. #: 10242259

TOTAL RATIO: 2.64-0.49

It looks like the outside casing is different along with the vent. It says it will also fit an LT1

Will it still work? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

No I do not think it will work. The only person on here that has built a ZF is thesource so you might try to PM him but I would say no. Again I am not sure though.

If you currently have a T56 in your car , spend the money on it and be done with it .

I'd love too but taking it out and having someone rebuild it and then putting it back in will take alot longer then just taking it out and putting in a new one in the same day. It's my girlfriends daily driver and I'm trying to minimize down time.

Thanks for the input everyone. I figured it was a long shot. I will have to find a local rebuilder I guess.

Installing a ZF 6 speed will definately not be a single day or probably single week job . It will require lots of modifications and probably exceed that of a rebuild or possibly even a new unit .
