I hope this is a small thread because the thought of it just makes ya sick thinking about it, but it's always a possibility.
We've had a few pretty close calls with the tree and wall, but no damage as of yet.
It's gonna be an interesting thread.

I wrecked our old Top Sportsman Monza back in 06. I just got complacent with the ride and wasn't paying enough attention. Got on the brakes too hard and the car made a hard left into the wall. Luckily I walked away un-injured and I wasn't even sore the next day other than the pocket book. I used to not care if someone else wrecked but after what we went through I get a sick feeling in my stomach seeing other people crash. On a good note though, we'll be debuting our new truck in Div. 4 Top Sportsman this year.

Their was a track rental that I didn't go to last year and there was a bad accident with a mustang. The car was really messed up. It had a full cage certified to 7.50's if I remember right. I won't go into too many details but it was bad and I don't care to see this happen to any one.

.
Seen way too many in 20+ years, that's for sure.
Myself, a couple of close calls. Sideways 2-3 times (tracks fault), on fire, (cranks fault),
scared pretty good (tracks fault, cut front runner at stripe). Good luck & be safe everyone.

I'd rather crash at the track than on the street. There's usually a bambalance within 1/4 mile from you at all times and less trees/poles/cars/pedestrians to hit during the wreck. :)

I saw the Blue LT1 TA crash at the LS1tech shootout a couple years ago at Beech Bend, I even have it on tape somewhere. Talk about making you sick, it shows how easy you can just lose your car...

She is really worried that something bad is going to happen where as I think that if something was to happen that its better on the track. Its only you and the other guy that are there and no other outside force is going to make you wreck.

I understand road racing, but how do you exactly crash in drag racing?.. excluding cars making immense power and spinning slicks at half track and/or cars doing wheelies..

That's easy. I seen a mid 12 second car lose a coolant hose and he slid in his own water, right into the wall. ANYTHING can happen.
I have had a crash once, but I missed some really close calls. Spun the tires at Moroso motorsports and hit the wall hard, just stayed with a bad run a little to long.........

Nothing as drastic as John's crash last year in the funny car. No briken bones, blood a couple of times. Truly a wake up call though and a greater respect for what can happen.

I came within 6" of the wall last year in my CETA

I rubbed the wall once, not enough to damage the car or even the paint too much, only took a little paint off, but it could have been worse since I thought I was not going to stop in time and nail the wall. I never raced with street tires again...

Hmm I seem to remember that run. Blue 2nd gen Camaro I believe during a rain-filled weekend....
I've seen plenty of drag racing wrecks but thankfully I haven't been in any as of yet. But after seeing a bunch and how drivers walk away it makes me understand and be thankful for the safety requirements.

Luckily not me. I've seen a few bad ones, not a good feeling.
Closest I've been is my dad forgot to put the fuel cap on (mounted up front). Front end sat down and the car got all stupid and went for the wall. Had one on flirting with the bumper and stirring up dust towards the wall but I never felt like it was close to out of shape.

I came pretty close to the wall last year, it scared the sh*t out of me. There was something on the track though, as many were getting the tires kicking out

Id rather crash at the track....If you hit the wall right, you can lets say bounce off it or skim it rather than hitting a fucken light pole
