How can i get more traction?
Now i've had my 05 GTO A4 for a month now and have already raced it a couple of times. Im proud to say i took an RSX-Type S and a couple of mustang GT's from a roll. But from the whole i've noticed that i have no traction, the wheel start spinning and the car starts sliding to the right. I know i can switch to Drag Radial Tires but they only last for like 11,000 miles or so (as i been told). Im looking to get more traction from the start, and i know the goat has traction control but that barely help from the start. Should i go with Poxy or Poly traction (not sure how its spelled) but its supposed to make both wheels spin at the smae time. I would appreciate any advise you guys have, thanks.

If you want good street tires get BFG KD's. Also, if you want to change the posi unit I would suggest a KAAZ unit from difftechs, if your stock I don't think you need one yet.

Look into Nitto 555R Drag Radial's there rated at 100 treadwear. I however have ran mine for about 18K or so and thats with about 25-30 1/4 mile passes, all with burnouts. For a DR they have great traction in the rain (just dont be stupid). I'd defentily get them again and plan to.
I would recomend drag radials, but thats just me, I like to go to run at the track ounce or twice a month, saves changing out tires. If you want to steer away from a drag radial go with the BFG KDW as suggested.
In GTO's due to the small fender well space you might have to roll the fenders if you go with a farily wider tire, like a 275 or so, but if you go with whats stock 245 or maybe somewhere imbetween you should be fine; dont quote me on that though.

I have boltons, tune and 275R nittos. Several 5k clutch dumps without any problems. You will get wheel hop on street tires at the track/street. Id get some Nittos(275 will fit stock 17 inch rims with rolling fenders) and either drag bags or stiffer rear springs.

i have around 380 hp and my set up drag bags, and nittos 555r (275) i still lose it alot... cannot get below a 2.2 60... i guess just need practice but in rain they are decent

if your car is sliding to the right,
then both wheels are spinning at the same time,
if it's tires "spinning"
not "hopping" or a "one tire fire"
then your only options are to:
1. learn how to drive
and
2. get some sticky tires (like Drag Radials)
the Nitto 555's last alot of people 10,000+ miles (if you're not doing burnouts)
my Mickey thompson's lasted me about 6K miles (and probably 70-80 good burnouts (at 2-10 seconds eacy)

Throttle controll! sometimes not flooring it right away means going faster in the long run...my car will spin through 3rd gear (245 kuhmo exta MX's) if i stab the throttle right away...if i roll into it though i can get it to hook in second. after that the drag bags do make a difference and stop some wheel hop, and a drag radial will absolutely help traction on the street, but beware a drag radial on an unprepped surface (like anywhere on the street) can cause some serious wheel hop when it does spin. GTO rears are pretty stout and i have numerous low 1.7 60' on it, but if you wheel hop hard enough you'll snap an axle like a twig
