Street Racing & Kill Stories - 99 trans am vs. 96 cobra on 100 shot

I raced a 96 cobra with a 100 shot long tubes and a cat back. Little did i no he was spraying a friend called me and asked if i wanted to race his buddy's cobra so i said sure. I raced him and the first to races were from about 35-110 and i started in first he was on my ass pretty good. At the time i was thinking to myslef there's no way in hell a basically stock 96 cobra is keeping up. So we raced a good 4 or 6 times on the freeway and i pulled everytime by about 2-3 cars. After he wanted to go from a dig so i ran him from a dig and beat him by even more probly about 4 cars i launched on him pretty bad. Then his car kkept dieing so i sayed meet me back at my house so i met him there and he pops his hood and i asked what was wrong with your cars and he said well i was spraying. Basically after the first couple races the nozzle came out and after i let him fix it i ran him again and pulled a good 2-3 cars overall i was very happy with the win.. They were very surprised also right after we raced they said damn that thing pulls like a mother.

even the early 4V cobras on a 100 shot should pull ahead of you pretty good. you were obviously the better driver.

anything can happen on the street though, as said above. mod for mod though you would have had him no doubt, but that 100 shot changes things a good bit.

a LS1 camaro will run that stock pretty much, sometimes faster. you obviously should know a little bit more about the car your talking about before you attack your keyboard.

Trust me I know what I'm talking about and a stock LS1 around here does not run 108mph for faster. Infact when my Cobra ran 106mph I pulled a LS1 SS with lid and exhaust from a roll and raped him from a dead stop. (mainly because I knew how to drive out of the hole and I had 4.10 gears)

^^ what kind of cobra, they can run anywhere from 15's, to mid 12's stock, a "cobra" doesnt say much.

stock for stock a LS1 isnt far behind a termi. if you beat one mod for mod with any other car, then he sucked at driving, you were good, or a combo of both.

put it this way, ive personally ran a 13.4 in a stock 98 Z28 A4. and a M6 is capable of a little faster.

with a few bolt on's they're mid 12 second cars. there more than enough people on here that will agree with me.

a 99/01 cobra which is what i think i remember you having needs exhaust, intake, UDP's, gears, and a tune to run high 12's.

with those mods yes, you can beat a LS1 camaro, but im talking mod for mod.

lol.....this thread is hilarious......to give you an idea my buddies 99 Cobra with CAI, X-pipe,mufflers,4:10's and tune (306RWHP) went 12.50 at 110mph......a geared 4v with stick tires is hard to beat.....

I'll agree that a 96 Cobra with those mods should have put up a better fight than that.....but if the guy isn't good enough to have his car running where it should be, it's the same as if he wasn't smart enough to make it fast enough to compete with an LS1 in the first place. Run what ya brung.......and hope that it's running right while you're at it.:D

ya my friend that was in the cobra has a video of it on his phone. but it was a short race that time. we raced plenty of times before that from a stop and freeway roll we tried a lot of different speeds. The first 3 races were pretty close i was like there is no way a 96 cobra with longtubes is keeping up because they didnt tell me they were spraying till after his car kept dieing.

Nice kill, dude. Regardless of the mods, he showed up with a car, you showed up with a car, he lost every time. Sounds like they thought they had you beat, but obviously they couldn't drive or something was up with the setup, so it was probably that much more satisfying to take the win.

And pay no attention to stopsign, he just likes to start crap on here. He's Kens03Cobra Version 2.0.
