What amenities would be "must haves" and what would be "nice to haves"?

like to have - football stadium lighting, killer bleachers, hot chicks working the staging lanes topless.
Fixed, but i think you meant to put that in the "must have" section....

It would have to be open more often than most of the tracks, friday, saturday they should have huge car shows and racing.
It would have to be cheap aslo say 10-15 bucks to race.
And there should be a time limit. Any car running should be under 16-17 seconds, its no fun to watch escorts, vibes and minivans race just because the people think its funny.

SOMWS6BIRD-I agree. I'm sick of watching the ricer in the 16sec car run,or the as*wipe thinking the 20sec stock hummer h2 is cool to run down the track. I think ricers have the right to race just like us all,but they should be modded and atleast hi-14's to have the right to run.

Good working time boards is a must..
OSW had som of the shittiest time boards, and why they don't put some up near the front of the track so people can see them is beyond me.
Bathrooms, showers, and a good concession stand.
Also if I was going to build one it would have to be 1/4mile and have enough shut down for NHRA Top Fuel cars :D
We were going to build one here in Melbourne, right off I-95 and it fell through. :bang:

Must haves- Perfect lanes, good track prep vehicles (like pomona), betting room, new up to date timing equipment and boards, emergency crew, good lighting, race gas pumps, n2o filling station and 24/7 rentals for the street racers.
Nice to have- Indoors, a bomb snack bar/grill, rental garages/tools, digital camcorders mounted around the track to film runs from different angles.

Must have: Clean, hard hooking, well preped track, long shut down area, working timing equipment, paved return road, paved pit areas, good lighting for night on track and in pit area, eating and drinking, bleachers, toilets, safety crew, fast clean up crew, reasonable prices to race and spectate.
Want to have: Bikini contest =), models and sponsor booths, real bathrooms with sinks, BBQ shack or some other good food besides hot dogs and hamburgers, tables to eat at and lounge, photography booth to get photos, some grass some where would be nice, on-site, speed shop with good selection of parts and equipment, go cart and scooter rentals, hookers and a smoke shop:secret2: LOL j/k and shade would be nice when it is hot.
Big dream: Working air and electric hook up in pit areas.

Read a lot, and never thought of it myself. The number one feature that seems to be the most popular with owners,
fans & drivers equally. Is a return road in front of the stands. Like the grove in Wisconsin.
The fans love to see the fuel & fast guys tow by. The drivers like when the fans scream & wave.
The owners like when the fans aren't bored & are excited. Just what I read, made sense to me.

I would have power outlets in the pits and if you want it turned on you pay for it.
No more generators :)

Must have a no tolerance policy about people who burnout in the pits/staging lanes, throw out people who stage with there back tires, and have a min. et that has to be ran in order to keep running.
Like to have a beer vendor on site when the track is open. Speed shop/ parts store on permises open when the track is open.

Screw paying for air and electric, that should be included with paying to race, besides electricity for a few hours really isn't that expensive.
I think women should also be able to at least walk around top less.:D

I was talking about us weekend racers
I go away for 6 to 8 weekends a year to race in my index class and pro comp. I would love to pay like 15 bucks a day or so to not need a generator for all my track and camping needs :)

underground :D
just what ive been thinking all this time.
a underground drag strip can be ran all year round without worring about wind snow or rain. have vents to expell the fumes and u wont have to worry about noise so it can be very local to a urban area. musts- race fuel and nitrous on tap, nice stands for the crowds, sticky ass track, speed shop for parts and tools, lots of pit area!!!, open for test and tunes weekly.
nice to haves - a classic restaurant like big boy's or in and out or some burger joint, a bar, a four lane'd drag strip to get races done quicker and the indoor idea sounds sooo damn good no need to worry about heat or rain or noise disturbance someone should make this happen, this would be really nice in los angeles since we dont have a good enough track locally.

A shut down area like Bandamere, don't have to use as much effort to slow down and can kill the engine and coast back down hill to the pit area.
Good clean pit area and HOOKING track clean bathrooms, ect ect.
I like how the return road here at ORP is in front of the stands also.

+1 on a fully paved pit area. It gets a little rediculous up here after a rain. I would love to see a track that has electrical hook-ups in the pits.
