advice on bolt ons
Hi i am seventeen actually just turned 17 today and i have a 1998 z28 camaro and i love it do death and plan on building it until it cant be built any more (never) I have recently ordered a granatelli mass air sensor, a grantelli air lid, and an slp smooth air bellows which i think is compatable with the granatelli stuff but not sure. anyway what do you think i can expect at the wheels and if you have something similar how much could you tell.

SLP has good products.......but the smooth bellow wont really do much at all. I got one for free, thats why I put mine on, if I wouldnt of got it for free I wouldnt have bought one.
by the way with your mods you will put down around 5-10 rwhp with those TWO mods.
by the way, with the money from the MAF put it toward a cat back. ie SLP loudmouth isnt that much and good bang for the buck. If you put a catback and lid on along with your bellow, you will see probably around 15-20 rwhp.
Good luck. Be patient, and read the threads and educate yourself and you will be the coolest 17 year old on the board compaired to the other ones.

Agreed. The return the MAF and use put the money towards an exhaust, you'll get more for your money than you would with the aftermarket MAF on an otherwise stock car. BTW, is it a M6 or A4?

Or better yet, return all your stuff you bought and take the money and put it towards a cutout and lid, both preferably used.....I went down the 'brand new parts' route the whole way and it isn't much fun looking back at it now. With the 2 mods I listed you'll gain twice as much as the mods you bought, AND save about half the money also.

^what the last guy said is good advice^
there used to be a bolt-on list that said what kind of "real" power should be expected from the mod. but I can't find it anymore.
first few things I would look into buying if I had a stock LS1 would be... a used set of long tube headers in the for sale section. perhaps cutouts instead. a lid. a catback. and you can find a decent intake for around $250-$400 there too.

MAF= WASTE OF MONEY and like stated above check the classifieds. As you can see the 25 under my name is transactions I have made from this site. I'm quite a shopper/seller

Don't forget the free mods either. Keep the lid and see if you can return the rest of the stuff. Afterwards, have peace of mind that you weren't fed a bunch of crap from a company. And then find some decent longtubes and buy some tires. Some rear shocks will help too.

well i have the granatelli MAF, i dident notice much of a differance, but if your going to spend money on mods you need, the MAF is not one of them! you can always buy the MAF later! but if i were you i might as well port the throttle body while im there!!
