Well I've been on the board awhile and have been working on my project for quite sometime. My dad and I engine swapped this truck about 2 years ago and put an LS1 into it.

Did an LS1/4l60E swap 2 summers ago....here are some pics of what it looked like after the swap.





Frame up rebuild time....

Game plan:
-Backhalf truck with ladder bar/coil over suspension
-Tubular upper and lower A-arms in front
-QA1 adjustable coil over shocks/springs in the front and rear
-Paint frame
-new steering components
-ford 9 inch rear, Posi w/ 3.89 gears
-18X7 inch wheels up front, 18X12's in the rear
-tubbed bed
-body work and paint
-lots more im sure im forgetting stuff

2 questions...

1) any reason why you Por15'd the frame vs powdercoating it?

2) Hows that exhaust going to be with a rear bed floor pan? It looks cool, but why didnt you go with side dumps in front of the rear tires.

1) Well initially I was thinking that it would be abit cheaper to paint the frame instead of powder coating it. It was cheaper, but after sandblasting it myself and doing all the prep work, if I had to do it again I would have just powder coated it. But owell, it was a good learning experience. The POR-15 still came out awesome by the way. I just feel that with the time it took to do it, I would have rather paid the money to have it powder coated.

2) I was going to go with side exit exhaust but do to the fact that the truck sits so low, theres no where to run it out the side unless I cut holes in the frame. The reason we ran the exhaust the way we did is because the bed already has to be tubbed, so I decided to just get rid of the whole stock bed floor. The gas tank and battery are already relocated back there so it's not like I'm gonna haul anything anyways. Look for some updates on the bed floor here shortly, it should be pretty neat!

How bout an update?



The bed is tubbed and down at the body shop getting the tailgate handle and gas door shaved. It should be in primer and ready for paint by next week.





Front end is all on and lined up. It will be joining the bed in the body shop tomorrow more than likely. The only thing left to do on it is shave the locks/door handles. Then paint will follow.

My brother has a 94 s10 that will have a custom rear suspension setup this winter and hopefully a 5.3 and a 6 speed shortly after. Currently it has a fuel injected 350 with a camaro 6 speed in it, but were still working out some bugs in the injection

Hey guys, few quick updates..



Got the bed cover all on. The only thing left to do with it is figure out some sort of a latch. Since the tailgate handle is shaved, I need a way of opening the bed cover without opening the tailgate first. We will probably end up using some kind of trunk latch and a solenoid to pop the latch open. More to come on that next week.



Fuel pressure and Trans temp gauges are all in and working. I'm pleased with how they turn out. They look great and have a cool red backing light for night time driving so they match the red/black themed interior. I'm gonna have to live with an empty 3rd hole for awhile, but it will be filled with a boost gauge soon enough



The bed is getting very close to being finished and it is coming out very well! I'll be getting the center section brushed tomorrow so the finish will match the rest of the floor. Other than that, we will be hinging the center piece up near the gas tank so that center section will be able to flip up. Should come out pretty cool! I'll keep ya all posted.
