Default Driveshaft Help

Looking for feedback in ref. to selecting a driveshaft for my Z-28, aluminum or chrome moly? I have the stock steel shaft and will be adding a safety loop and driveshaft. The car is not a track car, but would like something that will handle a H/C setup , I only have the cam part right now. I dont want to break the bank , but I also dont want junk. I have been looking at the PST 3.5 aluminum and the Spohn Extreme Duty chrome moly. Any input. will be appreciated. Mike G.

If the car is not going to see any track time, then your stock driveshaft should be good to go. Heads/cam are not going to break them. Launching w/ stickier tires will definitely shock them and the rear end aswell.
You can swap them for weight saving purposes.

a h/c car is capable of damaging a stock driveshaft on the street. i've sold too many of these to people that have had it happen.

best deal.. Strange 3 inch chromemoly complete with 1350 joints, balanced and ready to install. 295.00 shipped.

What kind of weight savings is there from a stock aluminum DS to a chromemoly 3'' DS?

the c/m shaft is gonna be a bit heavier... but a whole lot stronger. aluminum shafts have to be thicker material and larger o.d. to be equivalent.

i don't think i'd have too much of a problem with 1000 at the wheels. after that id say go to the stainless slip yoke and forged weld yokes. even the best one is affordable here!

feel free to call me. available most evenings, too.
