It is but it isn't. It will take some getting use to. We have it in one of our streets cars. The hardest part is getting use to how to down shift and having to shift fast while on the street. I have these in a few street cars and once they get use to it they love it. Keep in mind a face plated trans is always more for the track but is easier on the street than a proshifted unit.

If you need more information please feel free to send me a pm, email or call me. Always glad to help.

how long can one expect a faceplated transmission to last on the streets?

I can't answer that cuz I haven't used one yet. I have heard very good things about them and know that the fastest M6 cars are face plated. Had a long talk with Amber today and, like I said above, she was very honest and very helpful in my decision. I think there was a vid on here, awhile back, of a guy street driving his face plated tranny.

If you have questions I would really give her a call...

They do last a while. I usually recommend tearing them down and inspecting them once per year as well as every 10K miles to make sure the rings on the gears aren't burring up. Unlike a Proshifted unit these are designed to last much longer and take more abuse.

PM me for more information.
