good deal or not?
so i found a 01 zo6 thats in really great shape the dealership said they could prolly go down to 17 or 18k. the only problem is it has 92,000 miles. what i want to know is that a good price for the mileage or could i talk them down so more, second is that to many miles? the car is in great shape and i decided on really want a z06 and i thought that it was a good price plus its yellow and i always wanted a yellow z06 just dont want everything to go out on it as soon as i buy it.

Are you ready to drop money on repairs for this car? If you are planning on using it as your only car and daily driver, I wouldn't get it.. If you have another car and this car looks good inside and out, then I would grab it for a freaking nice weekend warrior!

Sounds like a good price when you consider a normal mile '01 Z06 is in the 22-25K price range. Then again, are you gonna use it as a DD? Even if it's not a DD, it's the car you really want so you will probablt drive it quite a bit and put some miles on her. Vette's aren't cheap to repair, but this sounds like a good price and you really like the car.

Sounds like a good price to me as long as the car is mechanically sound and pretty clean inside and out. Many people have proven on here that the LSX platform can still perform good even with higher mileage. But, the big question thats already been asked is if it's gonna be a DD or a sunny day car.

I agree with most of these other guys. 92k miles isn't that much. I've seen a handful of f-bodies do great with over 100k. and I would assume a ZO6 was probably taken care of. you should ask the dealership for a vehicle history report. if it's clean and the color you want then why not get it? unless you want to save up a few more thousand and buy one with twenty-thousand less miles. 17k or 18k for a ZO6 with under 100k is a damn good deal!! that's what non-ZO6's go for. and dangit I should be doing homework right now and going to bed instead of checking out LS1tech.

i will be my dd for alittle while. i will get a second car pretty soon after that just so i dont have to drive it in bad weather and stuff like that. i have a friend that knows what hes doing so labor would be cheap or free, and fixing parts dosen bother me cause i would like to end up reaplacing everything with aftermarket parts anyway, just want it to last for a couple of years

sounds like a great deal to me and if your wanting to replace most of the parts then you shouldnt worry about mileage in the first place. what parts do you want to replace? anyways im not sure how old you are but get an insurance rate check before you buy it to make sure your good to go. but I would say if your trying to learn to work on cars...dont buy the z06, buy something cheaper and simpler and then move on to the bigger and better things in life...just my .02

i had a 2001 supercharged mustang gt i dont know how much the insurance was cause i didnt pay it, its the one thing my mom pays for even tho i dont live there. but its going to be cheaper than my previous car. and i thought my car was fast till i got in a z06 and it changed my mind plus their just so nice to look at it.

if you're still thinking about buying it, don't forget to get a registration report for it (clean title, no damage) and make sure it's a real ZO6. if it's not a real one many here will say don't jump into it, including myself. but for a clean, mechanically sound ZO6 for that much... extremely good price. and I agree with the others about insurance. I'm 21 as well, 1 accident 2 years ago, and had full coverage w/ a 500 deductible on my $9000 KBB 98 Trans Am, under my dad's policy, and it was $160/month. that added up fast with the car payment & gas money.

that is an awesome deal i would jump on it as long as everything checks out. you should do plugs wires and o2's for a 100k tune up if you get it. and if it still has the origional clutch that might need replacing in the near future but you are talking not more then 1k with all that done. But you would have to put have a bolt on cammed f body to run with that vette with just minor boltons. and that will retain its value very well. i would but it in a heartbeat 94k is nothing.
