Forced Induction - Dual inlet intercooler for single turbo?

I have been thinking a lot about how I want to do my intercooler setup. I really like how Superman09 did his with the outlet going straight towards the throttle body: http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=625380&highlight=superman&page=6

Thing is, I'm single turbo and I can't find a version of that intercooler with one inlet. I looked at getting a custom intercooler with one inlet and they want $675 :eek2:.
My other option I thought about was to go with the dual inlet intercooler and make a y-pipe off the turbo. So the question is, will that be a bad idea? No issues of a pressure drop? Also, would that possible cool better than the traditional FMIC everyone does?

I will get back to you on the details but I think this is what you were trying to explain via pm how you wanted it setup. core size 24"X7"X3.5"

Your right on the money. I'm debating if I want the inlet a 3" instead of 2.5". That would save some money from buying 2 different size piping.

I like the intercooler set up with outlet facing towards the throttle body, does anyone have a link or contact on getting one that still with setup for twin turbos?

You can get the duel inlet/ single outlet in ebay. I already bought it and modified it for a single turbo a couple months ago.
