Default Goofy C5 Owner.

So I run down to Autozone to get Oil for the Station Wagon, er um Equinox and I see a C5 Corvette siting in the left lane not moving when I go outside.
I ask the guy if he wants to push it to the side.
"Oh no those cars have no bumper"
"Really?" I say "I meant I push it with my hands"
"Oh" "Isn't it too heavy?"
Me "No"
He gets in and says ready. I push no movenment. Car is still in park.
I explain how to get it into neutral without starting it.
So we get it to the side.
I say go into autozone get a belt and we can borrow the toosl to swap out the belt.
"How would you know how to do it, this is Corvette"
I said "I have a Trans Am with a Similar Drivetrain"
"Oh they can't be similar"
Me "just go get the stuff"
Him "ok"
10 minutes later he is one his way.
He was however. Very Gracious!

What a goof. I mean I know not everyone knows about cars, but I figured if you have a Vette, you might know how to get the car in neutral.

Just because you have a nice car does not mean jack on ones knowledge on automobiles.

HA HA years ago when I had my 2000 SS Camaro a vette owner pulled up next to me and asked me if it was gears that was making my car so loud I told him no it was my exaust then he asked what kind of car it was and I was dumbfounded and he couldnt believe that my car was faster then his and I told him I had the same engine as in his car and he couldnt believe it. I was laughing histarically inside.

I cant count how many times I have had vette owners tell me I had no idea what I was talking about when I said the motor in my SS was exactly the same one in his C5. Then when I showed him the motor he yelled to his buddy "hey, this kid took a motor out of a vette and put it in his camaro, you need to see this". What can you.......

That or the best of all. Oh thats just a Camaro it isn't nearly as fast as a Corvette, but I don't race my Corvette. I have never understood how a guy could have a really cool car like a Vette and not know crap about cars or think its so valuable that he can't race it once in a while. No offense to the guys that have Vettes and use them or to the guys that have one that is that valuable.

at least most of the guys in my area are knowledgeable, as a joke if a camaro rolls by a corvette owner he'll scream "MOTOR THIEF!"

I was in Bellevue yesterday in my C5 and it's dirty as hell. A guy walking by when I was getting into the car noticed how dirty it was and gave me the thumbs up for "driving" my car and not wasting it in a garage.

That's pretty funny. If I had a vette I'd use that line.
