Default Short Stick gone wrong?

Well guys today i install my Ws6store shortstick, and while doing it managed to drop one of the old bolts somewhere in my center console I didnt feel like taking it all apart so i just finished putting the new one on and called it a night. However, after driving it i noticed a noise coming from around my radio. It sounds like air being pushed around down there? Im wondering if I made some mistake to make all this cabin noise that DEFINATELY wasnt there before this. Also, it only seems to happen when the cars in gear and driving, but not in neutral. It also doesnt seem to happen a lot, but it is annoying. Any help is appreciated

Did you do anything with the rubber isolater shift boot that was around the shifter? Not the cosmetic boot on the console, the rubber one on the transmission itself. That might be letting some air in, but I didn't have to even touch mine to get my short stick on my factory Hurst.

****! i totally forgot about that thing. If i recall right mine was welded on my factory stick....hmmm i know very little about transmission but could that explain all the new noise? All i really have to do is turn the radio up a little more to make it go away, but i dont want to ignore it and then have a real problem
