Default Viper T-56 in my '04 Silverado

I've found alot of great info on pt.net on installing an F-body T-56 into a GMT800 pickup but I'm having difficulty finding whether a Viper T-56 will swap in without extensive modification. I'm mostly concerned with tail shaft length, shifter location, etc.

It was pulled from a Viper, so it's not an F-body unit that's been upgraded to Viper spec.

Are there any insurmountable dissimilarities between the two? My buddy has one just sitting in his shop that I can score for cheap.

My truck is an '04 Silverado ECSB with a 5.3L.

TIA
