+1 this sounds like a starter issue. When they're going out, they're tempermental and might turn over every now and then until they go out completely, as in your case and now it won't turn over at all. simple fix

sounds like a vats problem to me. I just replaced my starter. I also just had a vats problem. a quick way to find out if it is a 6 speed. Push start the car. If it starts, you need a starter. If it doesn't well you got a problem and I would start with the vats.

have you tried boosting it yet. is the headlights dimmer than usual. i had the same problem and it was my alternator. it didnt even make the clicking sound when i turned the key. went to autozone w/ my alternator tested it and it was bad.

im having the same problem with my 98 monte carlo. Lets say I can start it just fine for maybe 20 startups. Then on the 21st it wont start at all so I go under the car and tap the starter and boom it fires right up. Im going to replace it tomorrow since its easy but yeah im with everyone else and willsay starter but zrocket could be right and it could be the alternator just get it checked while your at it its easy to pull off and autozone checks it for free

If its the starter you should be able to see a power draw on your volt gauge. Mine just started doing it before i tore he motor down. I see no power draw so im going with VATS.

Sounds like its the pass key code security system.Take it to the dealer and have them reset the computer.I don't know if thats the problem, but sure sounds like it.

Does the volt gauge move when you crank? If so its a starter, charging system issue because its sending power, some things just not working.
