Default Magnusson specialist needed

How interchangeable are Magnusson superchargers (i.e. corvette application into a CTS-V)?

If an ls1/ls6 are the same displacement and share identical backwards compatible hardware. Can I buy a used magnusson from a corvette/F-body/GTO and stick in on my LS6 CTS-V?

I realize that they all have different part numbers but what the hell makes them so different from each other?

Frank.

I'd imagine it's the fact that the accessory drives from Vette to CTS are different

The Vette is different than the trucks and the CTS-V. CTS-V is different than the trucksa as well.

I know the accesories between a Vette, Fbody and Truck are all dofferent offsets. Also different clearance concerns for each car or truck. Thats most likely the reasons I can think of.

The CTSV kit has a different intake manifold which sinks the blower down closer to the engine, and back further toward the cowl. The accessory drive would be the same since the CTSV uses an LS6 Corvette engine.

The only way I would see getting a Corvette kit to fit on a CTSV would be to cut a big hole in the hood! It would look cool, but not sure that's what you want on a Caddy

Feel free to give me a call if I can answer any other questions for you,
Thanks,
Ed

Thanks everybody for the constructive inputs and the Magnacharger education.

I have been thinking about this lately because, with FI technology progressing as fast as it has over the last three years I would imagine there alot of people ready to sell their "old maggie" for some more current technology. I don't mind not making banzai power. I'm looking at the economics and the PITA factor of bolting on a bunch of parts or tearing into the motor. I can get the power level I am looking for with one hopefully simple mod.

Hi Ed,

I don't doubt your expertise, There is a Cowl Hood made for the CTS-V that is about 1.5 inches higher than stock. In your best guesstimate do you think I could actually pull it off? I'll take you up on that offer and give you a ring tomorrow.

No Problem Frank, hit me up when you get a chance.

Honestly, unless you're getting the Vette kit free, it would be much easier to just find a used CTSV kit, I would talk to Gauge HP above and see what he's looking for
