Default Ignition wire supply???

Here is a link of my build.
http://www.performancetrucks.net/for...d.php?t=406994

I finally got my 5.3 fired up over weekend. I did the harness my self with help from a friend. We used a pair of Maxi fuse blocks from a mid 90's H body GM car. One block is 12v at all times and the other is 12v switched. I am using a 85ish ford truck solenoid to run my 12v switched power. Well the solenoid lasted about eh... 5 - 6 starts and didn't work anymore. I took it back to Orielly's and got another one. This one lasted a little longer but eventually quit too. I hit it with my heat temp gun and it was 280 degree's F, so pretty much I need a bigger solenoid or, another solution on how to supply 12v switched power. I have a seperate fuse for, coils odd, coils even, O2's-tranny-maf ( all on same fuse ), PCM switched, Fuel pump, inj even, and inj odd.

Any ideas?

Make sure to get a continuous duty solenoid, not just the starter solenoid.
I got mine from NAPA, but other places sell them too im sure.
I use one for my cooling fan motor high speed, supposed to handle 80A continuously.
I'll get the part number tomorrow morning.

I split up my switched 12V stuff over four Bosch 30amp relays.

Gen3Benz,

I did some research on the solenoid I got. It was supposed to be 100 amp continuous and like 450 amp peak. I am seriously doubting that now. That would be great if you could get me the number of yours.

Rodder,

At this point, that is what I am leaning towards doing. I would have to make a trip back to the junk yard and get a few more pieces, but I think it may be worth it later on.

But I am willing to try another solenoid, if I can find a better one.
