Default It's no Six Speed Inc. car, but I'm an official 9 second member!

That's right, I finally made my 9 second pass! Of course, this was all on accident because I had to keep in mind that I don't have the proper/required safety equipment to run in the 9s, so I had to be on the brakes.

First pass, I was on the brakes hard, knowing for sure that I didn't break out. But when I rolled to the booth, the lady asks, where is your fire pants? I told her that I would put them on or slow it down. So I rolled off in excitement because she didn't say anything about my cage. I have a 6 point roll bar now, but it needs to be a 10 point cage.

Anyhow, here's the 1st pass:

1.44 60 ft.
6.20 1/8th ET
112.30 1/8th MPH
9.85 1/4 ET
119.71 1/4 MPH

The car spun, obviously from the 60 ft. time, and I felt it as well. I was HARD on the brakes at the 1000 ft. mark, but still managed to break out. I was stoked about the time even standing on the brakes!

2nd pass:

1.39 60 ft.
6.12 1/8th ET
113.39 1/8th MPH
9.92 1/4 ET
108.76 1/4 MPH

The car STILL spun, but managed a little better 60 ft. The car was not transfering the weight at all. I was actually pushing the car, versus lifting and planting them. The car did not leave the ground at all. So we're going to have to change up the suspension AGAIN. Also, I short shifted from 1st to 2nd and hit the brakes even sooner! Can you guys believe that?

The car has much more in it. The converter isn't even right yet. It was built for my 346 cam only motor, so it's WAY off. If I had stayed in it on the 2nd pass, changing nothing, and everything remainging the same, I would have ran a 9.57! There's no doubt in my mind once I get the car to hook, everything is right, and make a clean full pass, that I can knock off a 9.30! My goal was 9.50s, but since I already know it's there, I have to shoot for a slightly lower time.

Anyhow, we're going to try to sort out the things we need to fix/adjust during the week, so we can make it back out there next Sunday for more testing and tuning.

All and all, I'm very pleased with the car and want to thank the following for all your support and help to getting the car where it is now:

Erik Koenig (HKE Racing Engines) - Engine
Beck (Beck Mechanical) - Intake manifold
Greg Good - Cylinder heads
G-Force Motorsports - Tune
Joe @ Six Speed Inc. - Speed Density tune
Ben R - Directing me to the right people, parts, build, etc. (too much to list)

and last but not least, my father. We're a great team, who built this car from scratch (completley stock '00 Camaro SS), in our own garage, on jackstands, with our own hands and tools, etc. It has been one long journey and the car has come a long way, but it's finally in the 9s! 9.30 here we come!

One last thing, keep in mind, this is a naturally aspirated, 416 ci. 13.5 to 1 compression, hydraulic motor, spinning 7500 rpms. In my opinion, that's hauling *** for what it is. Imagine it if was a solid roller, had more compression, spun more rpms, etc. Damn...maybe next year.

Great job! Thats hauling ***!! I have acouple questions. What is your race weight? Also what kind of pwer did you end up making RWHP and TRQ? I really curious to see how I compare power wise and weight with you. I haven`t ran mine yet at the track. Granted I`m heavy as ****!

I knew this thing was going to be a beast when Joe sent me pics of the yoke and gears. Are you ready for some Ratt killing? John

-Ross-, thanks.

beardWS6, I weighed in last night at 2880 with me in it, but I'm going to double check next Sunday because prior to all the changes, I was at 2850 with me in it. I don't know how I added 30 lbs. I will verify and update. I don't have any solid numbers yet on the dyno because I didn't have my vacuum pump hooked up, the converter isn't right, and I had complications. I will try to get it back over to G-Force so we can dyno it again, but it still won't be accurate because the converter will still be off. Yes, it will throw the numbers off because it's slipping WAY more than it should being that it was built for a 346 cam only motor.

NaSSty Nate, we're working on it. We hope to at least have the pants this week.

Randy_S, thanks. You've got a 12 bolt, so slap some slick on that beast and run it!

sandovalt1, thanks.

Six Speeds Inc., thanks. There's still more left in it. The converter needs to be setup for the new motor, suspension needs adjustment, need to get it to hook, need to get it back on the dyno to verify the tune is right, need to double check the vacuum, etc. I know the car has a 9.30 in it when it's all said and done.

Stang's Bane, I see. Maybe next time.

6THZ28, no passenger seats...unless you want to sit on some studs?

jhd68cam, who are you? Do I know you? You obviously know Joe, lol. Ratt killin'...I guess call me the exterminator 'cause I'm gonna leave that Slobra behind!

Pro Stock John, hopefully this Sunday I'll get to ride it out and have the actual timeslips to show it. With my luck, the weather will be worse and I won't have comparable times. But yes, I'm very pleased how well it runs on a hydraulic 13.5 to 1 motor spinning 7500 rpms.

It has been a long time, maybe too long. But even after waiting several months for the engine/heads/intake, we're still not there yet. A lot of people have to realize, those who haven't gotten deep into racing, that it takes TIME! I can't stress that enough. No one will ever be able to build a car and get it dialed in with the first few passes. I learned that first hand. I had the 346 cam only motor almost dialed in and figured I would be close with the new motor/setup and boy was I wrong. I'm having to start all over.

Me either. I know if I had ran it full out last night, that it would have gone a 9.5X. I actually "attempted" a 3rd pass, in which I was going to go all out, but what happens, I run out of freakin' gas! What is that! It always happens that way. The launch felt weak, the 1 to 2 shift seemed like it was taking forever, it started studdering really bad, then realized I was out of fuel. My new goal is 9.30.
