Default Timing Chains

I am getting ready to install a TR224. The local shops told me to use the stock timing chain or a new stock one.
I would like a good single chain. Which should I get(JWIS,Single Rollmaster,) and where can I get it. It has 20,000 miles and the oil pump was replaced about 9000 miles ago.

I am going to go the other way... JWIS. When I talked to Thunder they told me this is the chain that they use so I went with it Although I think that the Rollermaster is cheaper.

I just received the RollMaster Double chain from SDPC ($74.00 to my door), this is a high quality piece.

Yeah, same here . . . I just took the stock chain out and put the JWIS in, and I noticed the links were made out of thicker metal than the stock chain was.

A buddy and I installed Rollmaster dual rollers in with our h/c. Nice piece of work.

Actually, Rollmaster does not make chain. If you purchase a Rollmaster timing set (single or double), you will get the timing gears made by Romac/Rollmaster, and the chain made by Iwis Ketten

I went w/ the JWIS from Katech to replace my 70K mile stocker. I didn't feel like messing w/ the whole Double roller swap out (and feel that it is overkill IMO).

BTW...isn't the rollmaster chain made by JWIS?

Rollmaster doesnt actually make chains, they make the gears. Any chain you buy from Rollmaster *IS* an Iwis (not Jwis) chain.

For proof, check out a closeup of my Rollmaster Double Roller chain I got from SDPC.

looking at the picture you can see the treads from the cam bolts. is this the way it's supposed to be? I put my cam and rollmaster together and they have the same gap behind the gear and the face of the cam. I would have thought you would want the face of the cam to be all the way into the back of the cam gear

I'd go with the 2xRollmaster it's a quailty piece. One less thing to worry about later on.
