T56 vs. M12

I was wondering what is the difference between the T56 and the M12?

Would there be any advantages by swapping an M12 into an F-body?

If I remember correctly, the m12 has better 1-3 gear ratios, and 5th and 6th are different as well, 4th is of course 1:1 in both transmissions.
