Default Procharged 408 build questions?

I have a 408 with Wiseco -8 pistons. Have my eye on a set of afr 225's w/ 72cc combustion chambers which would put me at about 10.5 to 1 compression. What would be a good Procharger set up to run w/ this much compression? How much boost? Definitely want intercoolers. Want to be able to run on 93 octane. Would my BBK SSI intake w/ 85mm tb be sufficient. I know the 10.5 to 1 compression is not optimal for blown applications but I do not want to rebuild the short block. What would be a good cam? Car is mainly a toy.

Thanks

i think EPP built a set up a lot like this and it made great power and even better TQ if i were you id go to the websight and look at a GTO 408 they did, or just PM Bob?

Bob at EPP would be a great one to consult this on. Personally, I think with the help of meth injection and a decent intercooler setup, you could probably go as high as 8-10#'s safely.

Smaller cubes = easier to make big boost, but you'll make up the power for that with the added cubic inches.

You will def need Alky injection to run any decent amount of boost on pump gas. I'd also invest in the bigger ATI intercoolers or an FMIC. Thats alot of compression to run boost with though. Although it should make very good power with not alot of boost.

Thanks everyone!

I would go with the ATI ProCharger F1A blower and our front mount intercooler kit. You can find this combination here at this link.

The F1A and our front mount intercooler kit are options at this link. Our blower camshaft works very well on 408's, and is the one I have in my 408.

Our blower camshaft.

My Z28 with an F1A/408

With the 10.5/1 compression ratio you re indeed going to want to use methanol injection, as has been suggested. Here is one that works very well.

Compression will actualy be 9.9.1-10.1 depends on how far down it sits in the hole. IMHO-that is the PERFECT compression fro a blower and 20+psi!
