Anyone know what V6 that is?

Seems the V6 has the 370 lbft gauge...little modding in the 6's future.

More I see of that interior the more I like of it!!!

Like the red limits on the speedo...instead of having an unrealistic speedo.

GM's 3.6L V6 wearing Holden's stock engine cover (the G8, being a Holden also uses this cover). Yes, these shots are from the same car with the 370 lb-ft torque gauge.

It's a Driver Information Center readout. The Corvette has had one for years, the LSX GTO has one, the Mustang has one and Chrysler's HEMI cars including the upcoming Challenger have them.

Note that unlike any of the above this one appears to be full-colored and high resolution like the new Cadillac CTS. It's not made up of gigantic pixels from the early 1980s that GM used to put in everything up until recently.

Also note, big rotary knobs for easy adjustment surround the HVAC buttons for other functions. Holden's door lock button is on the center stack. It uses Holden's flip-key (also seen on the G8). Leather-wrapped armrest on door panel, Holden mirror adjustment and window switches.

Have confidence in GM and Holden to deliver the best built, best-trimmed muscle car you can buy. Having seen what's in store I think a great many will be very surprised when the finished product is finally unveiled.

I was incorrect about the cover, it's actually from Cadillacs.

damn, beat me to it. I saw this cover online, read the MT article on the CTS, saw that exact cover, but with black sides and a Caddy emblem, and went to the computer! lol

At least they are finally taking what the Europeans have done for years. Make the engine bay look pleasing to the eye. It may seem trivial but a clean engine bay hints at a better designed and engineered vehicle.
Most U.S manufacturers have failed at this as well as the interior design. The GTO and most of the new Fords have addressed this so progress is being made. Maybe US auto makers have finally figured out what the rest of the world has known for years. A car is a complete package and people look at build quality first for the most part. I hope all U.S. carr companies come to this realization and we finally get some well built, well engineered cars.
I didn't buy into the BMW's claim as the ultimate driving machine until i owned my first one. I have now owned five. I love my F-body but it doesn't compare for usabilty or friendliness as a daily driver that just happens to be fun too.

I love a messy engine bay...looks purposeful and I can point out what everything is...under plastic it just looks blah.

Notice the Tach and Speedo on opposite sides than they use to be. And is that a NAV screen they got in there above the radio for us?

That car looks heavy :nono:

Have confidence in GM and Holden to deliver the best built, best-trimmed muscle car you can buy.I have faith, brother! I have faith! :usa: Keep on preach'n the good word! :usa:

I can hear the low rumble of a pissed off LS3 now; the roar of a high-RPM burnout, tires screaming, smoke billowing! Too long have we waited for the rebirth! Too long has the Mustang and Ricer gone without the shadow of a like-yeared Camaro to loom above them!

Will someone else give me an Amen?!

When we have a price and a weight then maybe you will get an Amen.

Ill give ya an AMEN, too many people are already bitching about what isnt even out yet, or the final product, I think GM wants opinions and they have plenty of them already, Id say there will be a happy median, and for the folks that just hate it...stick with what you got or look for something else, nothing will ever be created that satisfies everyone 100%

Not sure about the knobs that look to be the HVAC controls, but I love the 69' Z28 style gauges underneath it in the center console. Can't wait to see someone on here fab up their own boost gauge or bottle pressure gauge to replace the ft. lbs. gauge.

The idea with giving info to groups like us is to wargame the goodness or lack thereof of their products. If we sit here like toads on a log GM is not going to know how to make the new Maro more user friendly. If we open our damn mouths then GM can and will listen.

So make it light GM!!!

See doesn't that make you feel better.

What are the specs on the V6 engine?

What are the specs on the V6 engine?

depending on the configuration, it'll be anywhere from ~25x-304hp/253-27x lb/ft of torque. Not a bad engine if you take into account the engines used in the previous Mustang. I have a feeling that the 3.6L equipped Camaro could probably best a New Edge GT if both were stock. I don't know about you guys, but that sounds like a pretty good deal to me for around $20K, IF that's the base engine.

If they put a turbo four in the Camaro for the base models(like the upcoming Hyundai Tiburon/Genesis coupe will) I'd probably get that instead of the six. There's just something cool about having a RWD turbo-four. Anybody want a new Thunderbird turbo-coupe?:D

+1 Mustangs are boats, and this doesnt look THAT heavy as people are arguing about. Anything less then my 69' 3740lbs is light to me lol

I liked the chrome around the gauges in the earlier concept..
wish they would do that.. instead of the grey plastic around them..
to me that would look more oldschool.
