Default Should I Buy Levernois Stage 2 Head Or Send My Heads Out To Port ???

I have 03 zo6 243 set of heads. It will cost me $650 plus shipping to get this head ported (5 angle valve job, mill, port the runners,BOWL BLEND). Now the Levernois has a cnc ported stage 2 gm LS2/LS6 243 casting head for $1349.00 5 axis cnc machined, 220 cc intake runners, intake flow rate 305 cfm, exhaust flow rate 235 cfm, gm valves/seals, dual coil spring .670 lift, titanium retainers.
My questions is should I send my 243 heads out to get ported or should i just buy the Levernois heads already assembled & ready to go ?
Levnoris will give $300 core credit for my head so i will actually buy them heads for 1049.00.

man i would go with the levernois . you migth be able to swap your 243s for money and a set of heads then use those as a core and take the money you make off the 243s and put that with the 1049 .

id say if your willing to pull your heads and send them out do that. dont get too caught up on flow numbers as most of the time they are using a 4.125 bore and 1 7/8ths pipe (or no pipe) to get the flow numbers. most people wont ever see them because of the stock ls1 bore size. I doubt it'd be worth the extra money for the assembled heads honestly. hard to say what power you'd get from each...flow numbers dont exactly translate into power.

Your heads are worth more then a core value of $300....you should be able to sell them outright for around $500 here in a very short time. Second, you heads are already equipped with lightweight sodium filled valves, if I remember correctly the Livernois uses solid stemmed LS2 valves...which isn't a huge deal but when it comes to valvetrain weight, every bit counts. When it comes to HP, I would venture to say that both heads when ported by the same place are gonna perform the same. I would probably just sell your Heads outright, and purchase the Livernois heads. You will get a fresh casting, with all new parts thats ready to run, and no downtime. Your heads would be a quick sale at $400-500, and the buyer would pay shipping as well....saving you additional money because you won't have to pay to send them in for core credit.

X2, Your valves alone are worth $300. Good luck to ya...
