strange SS on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevr...spagenameZWDVW
This is a SS with supposedly 6.2 miles. It was supposedly never driven, never even went through dealer prep. So you would think a collector bought it and brought it home on a trailer and then never drove it. It looks to be in perfect shape and still has window sticker and RPO code sheet on it. They strange thing though is that it has a berger panel and painted black rims. I'm also not sure id that is stock exhaust - im no SS expert. This can be seen in the link to extra pics he has.
I sent the dude an email to see why he did this to a 6 mile car. He definately messed up its value. Let me know what you all think!

he probably figured he would get a huge profit from the car by letting it sit...he might get a little more than what he paid for...if he did change the exhaust and rims, he should have kept the stock ones...waste of a car imo just to let it sit

I know of somebody who bought the 35th anniversary one and never really drove it because he thought they were not gong to make camaros anymore.
This guy was maybe thinking the same.

Well the link is blocked where I am right now but just from what you have said about the Berger panel and wheels being painted it doesn't necessarily mean it isn't an SS. He could have brought home and just painted that stuff and drove it for 6 miles before parking it.

I call B.S. on this. Why would he have an S.O.M. SS with only 6.2 miles but change out the wheels and have the pillar painted to match? I have also never heard of a z28 ss and think that if he really had something special that he would know how to say it.

6.2 miles.... brand new *** camaro.... If i had the money id probaly get it. Looks like it is still freshly wrapped up. Everything seems coo about it except the Berger panel on the car an it was sent off to SLP?... and the rims, there black, but they are a shiney black, maybe these where painted black like the ZR1's where painted black b4, or maybe he did it. non the less clean SOM

You've heard of an SS right? There's your Z28 SS, you just dont' say Z28 anymore when you add the SS option, but it's still a Z28

I bid on it. Yes it is entirely possible for that car to have just 6.2 miles. People buy them and then hope a collector wants it. Suprised it isnt at Barrett for an overblown ego buyer to spend 50,000 more than its worth. But then again a car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
I'd put it back to complete stock before tyring to sell it though. Unless the Berger and rims are special order factory and come on the invoice. Its got a reserve so the seller already forked out some big bucks to ebay.

first the seller has Zero feedback.. that should throw up a RED flag.. and if this thing had 6.2 miles i would expect to see several pics.... and why is it setting by yht curb?

those rims look like the 10 spoke SS rims just painted black I dont think you could get them that way.
Sunset orange was a new color in 01 and I dont think you could get some special order color from the factory. But I could be wrong I mean money talks so I guess you could get what ever you wanted if you had the cash.
but I call BS the guy would probly kill you when you show up at his house and put you in the basement with all the other gullible guys haha.

For the rims and berger.. could be a special order factory build.. just like the interceptors are.. and as for 6.2miles, who knows.. he could have just found another car that actually had those miles and swapped out the clusters, but it does still seem to be wrapped up nicely with all the original stickers, etc. etc. etc..
