Purchasing D-1SC Tuner kit for Stock 98 F-Body. What else do I need?
I am buying a D-1SC tuner kit for my 98 LS1/M6 Camaro. I plan on running 8 #.
My car has previously been tuned and I am at 340 rwhp w/ LTH's, ORY, Pypes cat-back, lid, and comp 918's. I also have 4:10's, which doesn't effect the charger.. I plan on Harris Speed Works tuning it again right after the install.
I am going to need a pump and injectors. What pump and injectors should I go with?
What spark plugs are recommended?
What other mods should be done w/ the Procharger and are there any additional items that I should order w/ the kit?

do NOT go with 42lb injectors... they are around the same price as 60's and you don't have to change them out twice... Also you're going to have to get it tuned again... a NA tune and a FI tune are far different.. I also have a walbro in-tank pump, kenne bell bap, meziere flexplate, suspension mods, tune, th400, neal chance converter and a whole bunch of other crap... Honestly having FI is just the beginning and you're going to have to upgrade to allow for it... Then you have to worry about the shortblock... seriously consider at least $20k in the long run if you're serious because of blower/turbo, shortblock, heads, trans, rearend, suspension, tune, and many misc parts... it's not cheap and you might as well look at it in a real point of view.. Good luck

Are the 60# injectors going to be harder to tune, and how much more $.
I don't want to go overboard, and I don't plan on more boost in the future. I know, I know, everyone says that, but I am on a very small budget, which is just to get me what I need to be safe.

Yeah go with the 60's I did, it gives you room to grow. Also you will need a new ATI balancer. I am running tr6 and they are working out fine. Get a hold of Bob at epp he has everything in a packaged deal plus he can talk all day about this stuff. He enjoys this stuff as much as anyone on here.

yeap, the blower pulley has to bolt to something.
epp has a pretty good deal for the blower
but as 98turbols1 said, f.i. cost a lot.
here is the parts list off the top of my head for my install.
basic d1sc kit
ati balancer
ati pinning kit for said balancer
60lbs injectors
walbro pump
tr6 plugs
new crank bolt
boost and fuel pressure guage
fuel rail adapter for fuel pressure guage
belts for a/c and serpentine (if you get an underdrive balancer)

I have noticed that the 60#'s are easier to tune than the 42#'s and for just about the same price why not so you dont have to buy injectors again when you up the boost. A walbro pump possibly with a racetronix hotwire kit and then tr6 plugs. could even try the tr6ix some tuners have had better luck with them. Have you thought about a meth injection kit to complement the intercoolers that come with the kit instead of a fmic?

if you do it all right the first time it will be the most affordable. I only spent 16k and never even turned a wrench myself. I am very smart and did all of my research before going into this build. I started out with 60 lb injectors and I am now at a reliable 700 rwhp. I have forged 348 shortblock with hand ported factory heads and arp head studs with 9.8 compression and 10 lbs of boost, but putting down 700 rwhp.

Allows you to "pin" the balancer to the crank. You don't want it spinning itself on the crank. Link
60 lb injectors are more difficult to tune but a good tuner will have no trouble. 42 lb injectors are good for the amount of boost you're going to run. You can always upgrade later if you want. Either way it's not really a big deal.
I'd suggest getting the SDCE bracket for mounting the ProCharger. It's a better design tensioner system and will actually gain ~1 lb more boost from using it. I did for me.
Also make sure you upgrade your fuel pump....that should be mandatory. I first used the racetronix pump and it's great. But with my new motor set up I'm going with the racetronix twin pumps built by lonnies performance in PA.
When are you getting all this? Take your time and keep doing research until you're really comfortable with the set-up. Good luck Brandon.
