Anyone know if you can use an f-body alternator on an ls1 ('04) GTO? The alternator just went in the GTO and they want retarded amounts of money for it and are saying it's a dealer only part, but I got a buddy that can get me an f-body one real cheap, how in the hell is it different, and can I use an f-body one?

If the mounting location or connector is different than you cant. I dont know I was just giving you an idea of how they can be different. I would go to NAPA or something and look at one of each and see how they are different. If the part number is different than chances are the alternator is different in some way.
