Buying Salvage LQ4
Hey guys... I'm looking to jump into the LSX game and I've come across an LQ4 from a wrecked Yukon. This thing was hit pretty hard... hard enough to shear off the passenger side of the water pump, broke off the TB and the front of the manifold... even popped the freeze plug out of the head. So... do I take a chance on this, even if I can pick it up cheap???

i picked one up that was in a little bit better condition......that one looks pretty rough.....350.00 is a great deal.....but as they said.....make sure at a minimum the block isnt cracked.......sitting on it's side you are going to have some rust lines on the cylinder walls.....that means going straight to the machine shop for a hoan and new freeze plugs....
i have a bare ls1 block for sale for 350.00 has a fresh hot tank bath and new cam bearings....cylinder walls are straight and no problems
let me know
