General LSX Automobile Discussion - jeeez...

Coming home from work this morning(i work midnights)I got hit. Got on 270 and 10 seconds later had to slow down cause of cars in front of me were stopped cause of a wreck a little ways up. I slowed down. It was very slick.. my traction light came on when I had to stop fast. Anyways an 18 wheeler tried stopping and it's back end came sliding around. Hit me in the rear and demolished my car. Pushed my car up almost on the railing and messed up the front a little bit too. Thank god I didn't go over...the mississippi river is pretty cold. I couldn't even find my exhaust. I wanted to cry when I saw may car.:cry: I can't get the look of my baby out of my head. But I guess now I can upgrade to a trans am or somthin. I'll have pics up of it monday when I go look at it. Thanks for reading.

That sucks. My 1996 Camaro got totaled last Feb. Good thing is you know that semi's got to have decent insurance. Like you said, look at it as an opportunity.

Cars can be replaced, people cant. be glad your not hurt or dead, and like you said now you can get a trans am.

atleast your still alive and breathing! a lot of 18 wheeler accidents ussually arent too pretty, anyway like you said its time to upgrade! hope their insurance takes care of you-

well that fuckin sucks man but like you said, it's time for an upgrade! maybe this was God's way of telling you to upgrade :)

that sucks man. get some $$ for the car and your injuries. Not many people can say they got rear ended by an 18-wheeler and walked completly unharmed

Don't forget i bet that driver of the 18 wheeler was sad to lol.. I mean when traffic is stopped on a highway, in winter, with slick roads... the people have to know that theres going to be accidents just waiting to happen. Its pretty sad when even if u know whats coming you cant do anything in both your case as you stopped and then got hit anyways and the 18wheelers case as he saw it tried to stop but obviously they cant stop on slick roads like that.. so there was nothing anyone could have done to prevent a accident like this. It's this kinda stuff that annoys me, the police should know when a accident happens on a highway to get the scene covered and give drivers a warning up ahead, get the cars off the road, and try to stop and slow down traffic way ahead so people have a chance to at least stop

You mean getting wrecked into. Our cars are getting more rare everyday. 100 mustangs a day could wreck and you'd still see one around the corner. Oh and if I would of gotten out of my car, I would of slipped on the ice and gotten ran over! The reason i'm so sore is cause I saw it coming and I tensed up so hard. Next time that happens i'm gonna try and relax lol:eyes:

same thing happened to me, but i was in a truck and demolishing a 10 point buck... i had a primo 95 ford f150 that was my baby... exhaust on it that i totally loved because it wasnt crazy honky loud like every other truck in my small town... coming home from one of my buddies's parties at his mom's house about 20 min. from my house... get on the highway and get stuck behind a van going about 45 mph at about 2:30 at night, and i guess now i know why! i pass her and get further down the road,goin about 70, when about 50 yards away i see a 10 point buck freeze up in the middle of the road
sure enough, i saw it comin so i tensed up big time and just went for it because if i would have lost control i woulda been falling off the road into a ditch about 30 feet deep with no guardrails or anything like that... so i smash the deer, air bags go off, truck totaled, but really didnt do that much damage to the truck... motor still runs and the truck is still on the road today
just hope that your insurance will give ya a good deal on it, which im sure they will... and the state policeman told me that it was a shame that i hit that one because it was the biggest one he had seen all summer in that area lol...
i babied my truck so much... probably waxed it at least once every week just for the heck of it
i even told the wrecker that came and got my truck not to scratch it putting it on the truck! lol

but ya man im sure everything will be alright and insurance will treat ya well
and your family can always buy a replacement for a car, but never be able to buy a replacement for you

I've got some pics. They're on my sisters camera. I'll get them here in a few days. I get to swap out my ws6 hood for the factory one tomorrow. I only put it on there a few months ago if that. Oh, and sequeals99 sorry bout that truck. It was nice! Shit happens I guess.

make sure the insurance gives you some pain and suffering money when i totaled my 97z28 i hydroplaned into oncoming traffic and got tboned in the drivers side door i got knocked unconcious and airlifted to the hospital but the girl i hit didnt have a scratch on her or her passenger and they each got like $1100 for pain and suffering aside from the check for the car.

Glad you'r ok man but there is a bright side, this is exactly how I was able to upgrade to my t/a! I had a bright red 97 firebird v6 I had just detailed it and some jackass nailed me in the turn lane and totalled it!! I was buying the car off my step mom and was supposed to make payments after i paid off some other bills... Well I hadnt actually paid anyhting yet when it was totalled. lol I got $6500 from his insurance, paid the step mom the $3000 I owed her, put $2000 down on the t/a and paid off bills with the $1500 I had left . So all in all I'd say it was a pretty good deal :D

Nice. I just got 9,090 from the insurance company. My paint looked like glass. I dunno how we convinced her but we did. Thought i'd get maybe 6k for it. I got rear ended by an 18 wheeler and tossed into the side of the bridge. I'm expecting a big check.
