General Maintenance & Repairs - SES light from car wash?

The other day I went through the car wash and all of a sudden my car was shaking and vibrating. I though it might be the wheels pushing the car. I pulled out the guys start drying my car and it does it again then the SES light starts flashing then stayed on steady. I knew it was a misfire. Is there any reason this should've happened? I just had the cat on driver side replaced from the Technical Service Bullitin letter I got from GM and did a set of Koni shocks. But why would this have anything to do with that. I know it was a misfire for sure because I then went to autozone to get scanned to make sure. Any info would be appreciated Thanks.

I am assuming since Autozone could scan it it is a 95 or newer...if its what I am thinking it is then I would bet its a 95-97 and your optispark on your LT1 got wet.Very common problem and a pain in the butt to replace. It is an LT1 right? If not im not quite sure.

Oh sorry I forgot to mention that. No it's an LS1. Year 2000. But about 3 or 4 hours after it came on it went off. Weird.

Its no biggie I had the same thing happen to mine. I forget what code mine threw but it was like evaporative emisson system or something of that nature. My car hesitated for a second after i came out of the car wash and on came the light. I have Autotap and cleared it and it never came back on. Since then I dont spray as much water near the ram air area and I have never had trouble since. Also since then i have cleaned the engine bay and I havent had any trouble there either. Hope this helps you out

Thanks yeah I figured it was something like that. Cuz I don't have a WS6 but I have the SLP ram air mod where there is a scoop by the radiator which shoots air into the airbox. I got the underbody wash to and I flipped cuz I thought maybe water was shot into the engine.

yea thats what most likely happened. Im not a mechanic but my guess is that some moisture got into your intake as it did with mine. Kinda runs rough of hesitates for a second like if you had bad gas(water in the gas) but this way had a little in the intake. Shouldnt have anything to worry about especially because it went off as well on its own. It was prolly blinkin at the time because it ran like crap for a second or two and it knew something was wrong and then the moisture that cause it was gone. Welcome to the site by the way!!!!
