Default Painted F.A.S.T Intake!

Got to painting the FAST intake for the past few days. Painted silver to match the car.

Sanding process was 100-220-250-1000

Adhesion Promoter

Primer

Repeat Sanding

Paint

Wet sand with 1000 grit

Then I laid 2 more coats of paint. This is how it turned out so far with NO clearcoat yet. The wetsanding helped a lot to achieve a "smooth" look. I can't wait to see it after the clear! Took around 4 hours in sanding alone, this includes sanding down the "WILSON" on the manifold. The outline of the FAST took around 1/2 hour, very delicate process to get it to look good. The silver paint was out of a Duplicolor can. I have a gravity gun, but the paint for it was $45 a pint, which I just couldn't justify for one thing. I'm really happy with the results so far from coming out of a rattle can. I will be spraying the clearcoat out of the gun within a few hours.

Let me know what you think. I will get more pictures of the whole manifold after the clearcoat.

EDIT- After clearcoat pictures!

This may not be some peoples bag, but I would sand the fast off and paint it satin black for the sleeper look. It would be kind of hard to sand the logo of a 900 dollar peice of plastic tho.

Correct. After spending that kind of money, I just wanted a good looking intake with a subtle FAST logo. I did sand off the "WILSON" part which took about 45 minutes to get it to blend right, sanding the fast would be a PITA but do-able.
