Shop for true duals in the San Luis Obispo area
Hey guys, I am looking to have a true dual system over the axle fabbed up at a local shop. Just not sure which one to choose. I have seen some nice cars in one place on Higuera called Scottys Exhaust Shop and was thinking of taking it there. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know the name of it but yah, there's a nice shop at the bottom of Higuera, near High street that does good work. He usually has a silver El Camino parked out front sitting on ET streets.
That'd be the first place I'd start, also, if you ask around there are a few guys with F-Body's in town that frequent these forums. I just graduated in June and wish I was still in sunny SLO lol.
good luck

Yeah thats the one, Scottys. Always has that El Camino out front. I've talked to some of the F-body guys from SLO on this forum. Hoping they will see this thread.

yeah Scotty's does some nice work but they are damn expensive I think almost $95 an hour which would be pretty expensive in the end.
What exactly are you looking for? like a TSP set-up or over-the-axle setup? and are you looking to have it done with mandrel bends or push-bent pipe.
on a side note Loyolacub do you go to Poly?

95/hr? Wow, that is expensive. I am looking for something over-the-axle and mandrel bends if I could. I figure if I find the right shop I can always buy the bends from summit if they dont have a mandrel bender.
There is another place on broad that looks like they do that kind of stuff as well, American muffler and trailer hitch?
I did go to Poly. I am working in the area now, gradutated last year.

American muffler and trailer hitch is pretty good thats where I got my first tru dual system done at on my 02 Z28. The guys name is Mike and it was a damn good price for all 2.5" piping and x-pipe , I supplied the mufflers. I bet he could do stuff with mandrel bends for you.
Oh and if you decide to buy the mandrel bends first then take them to the shop, pm me i have a link to a much cheaper place and they are good quality. I actually have quite a few extra 3" bends at my house from the extra I bought that I wont need when I finish my true dual in the next week or so.

Sweet, I already have an X-pipe and the mufflers I want to use (sweet thunders) maybe I will head over there soon and see what they can do for me. The only thing I don't have are the tips, do they have some there?
I think I am going to go 2.5" since I don't plan on buying an upper panhard relocation bar and I want it to go over the axle.

There use to be a good shop where im from (santa maria). Which is about 30-45 min from SLO. Its called Super Muffler. The owner was a real good welder and pipe bender and he would always give the best prices, nobody could touch his prices. He recently had kemo therapy and now lets these newbies run the shop. ANd now they over-charge and their work is nowhere close to what the owners work was. however, they still got my x-pipe true dual setup fabbed up and installed. Mines dumped, and im not too sure if their good enough to do over the axles (never know). Im taking my true dual setup off probaby next week and going with a y-pipe setup to accomadate my new rear valance and center mount exhaust system im fabbing up myself.

Mike from American muffler recommended Imperial muffler over off of Tank Farm. They quoted me a real good price for all the way out the back and over the axle. Can't wait to get them done, I've had the X-pipe and Sweet Thunders waiting for over a year now.
