Default Rear

I personally want to congratulate youon a job well done. You had to be putting power down and launching it pretting freaking hard to break a rear in an automatic. In any case I would look around on our vendors and if you cant find a good deal on a rear end let me know I am bout to buy one myself and maybe if a couple people get them then we can all get a good price. It's a moser 9" with any gears on the list, trac-loc posi, all new bearings, direct bolt-in, NO ABS however or TCS, It's the real deal for about 1750-1800 shipped

We can get you any of the Moser rear ends or one of our Fab 9 rears at a great price. Let me know if we can help.

i think it was the DR's that did it, lol. i went with a Midwest 9", so i'd say go with a 9" of some sort for the strength. what kind of driving? street driving, or drag strip only?

wow... not a bad deal there. i wouldn't get crazy with that stock 9 inch case at the dragstrip though. you may just end up with a chunk of the stock case between the gears and cause a lockup.
it comes down to this... you get what you pay for. a stock 9 inch case will get you by for a while, but i would still upgrade it sooner than later if you have enough power to need a 9 inch.

I agree, I've seen them leave a pile on the track. Bob

and chances are, if you break a case, the only thing you *may* salvage out of the center section is the diff unit. even the driveshaft will be junk. so figure in the cost of the cheaper gear. you saved about 300-500 depending on what and where you buy it. the driveshaft is gonna cost 300 minimum. now you need to repair and upgrade the center section. thats gonna cost 800-900 to buy parts and have it setup using your posi unit. now, youve spent 1200 to repair what you spent 800 on originally to save only 300-500. you now have a 2000.00 center section that still has a posi unit in it. i can sell the baddest aluminum center section on the planet and a driveshaft with it for 2000.

now what do yo think of that stock center section?

i know not everybody has 2500-3500 to spend on a good rearend from the start. but the point i'm making is don't go out and buy a Moser 9 and stuff it with a gear setup you think is bullet proof just because it is a 9 inch ford. they break just like your 10 bolt.

Wow, congrats to "most" of the vendors with some useful information instead of the usual "we sell moser, call me for a great price" that we all normally see. You can see the stand out vendors on here now......good job guys....
