Need to get some chips on the hood fixed, passenger lower seat is ripped, dash pad is cracked and the a/c clutch locked up gonna replace the whole compressor and everything with it. Needs Nitto's NT05R drag radials

Well the 04 is running. Started to sell it because i couldnt figure out how to wire it up. After countless hours of searching on google and talking to a friend i managed to wire it up. Still have a few things to do but hope to start driving it this week.

Someone talk Goat into selling me his 67. I have a clean 68 but the small window 67 short bed is what i really want lol.

What rpms can the stock top-end and bottom-end handle?

Mine has been at 6800rpms for 4+ years now it wouldnt go any higher then that unless u have a ls6 block. Thats all rod bolts can handle safe. I think b4 i had the cam,pushrods,valve springs. with just a few bolt ons it was set at 6500rpms

what cam did you go with im looking @ the VRX5 anyone around here running that?

Im running the VRX4 with the new TSP ORY into a Jegs catback. Sounds good in my opinion considering it's half of what you'd spend on a name brand catback.

What gears are you putting in SIC?

My car dynoed at 385/375, but the tune was way off and was pulling 4* of timing. I think it's closer to 400 now that the tuning issue has been taken care of but I just haven't been back to see. The best I've run in I believe what was 93* and some of the other guys may know exactly what the temp was that day. I know it was hot and most of us were running about the 2-3 tenths slower than normal. I was cutting 1.5 60's on 26x11.50 Mickey's.

What rpms can the stock top-end and bottom-end handle?

Stock short block will handle 6800 for a long time in an auto. If you are 6 speed, don't go from 3rd back to 2nd. Not good;) My dad bent about 12 push rods at one time doing that in my 98. My family has had 5-6 stock bottom end LS cars that all went several years of racing every weekend shifting @ around 6800 and running in the 11.3's-11.8's with no failures until we started spraying one of them every weekend. It finally spun a rod bearing.

My first LS camaro had close to 3000 problem free passes on it when I sold it to Josh D. I think he put about another 100 or so on it with no issues. Streetstalker ran his every weekend for years before he put a bigger cam in it and finally killed it shifting around 7200 if I remember correctly.

I have always heard how sorry these stock rods are but I have never seen one that just came apart for no reason. But I'm not saying it doesn't happen

On a side note, I dunno if anyone has any projects going on, but I have 2 mint mufflers off a 10 Challenger. They are very square in size and are 2 1/2 inlet/outlet. They are like brand new. Would be willing to let them go pretty cheap. Wouldn't fit an f body I dont think though.

Anway, i head back around the 1st week in Jan. When i get back looking at doing Pacesetter LTs, x-pipe, then dumped bullets. any suggestions on a good set-up? Then right around summertime im wanting to FINALLY do a heads/cam swap. I'm thinkng 224/224 112LSA would be a good cam to keep the car still DD material. On a funny note, i need tog et my driver side window motor replaced or just looked at. Since ill be replacing the drivers side motor more than likely ill probably just pony up the extra cash and get the passenger side done too. Other than that the only mod im thinkn of doing is rotor/pads, gears..and.. even though i'm pretty against sound systems, im going to have to replace my blown speakers in the car.. but thats for another day. I'll probably do that when i head home back to Texas on leave after i leave here.

^^I personally would suggest single chamber flowmasters. I prefer the sound of them over bullets. However, it is more difficult to tuck them bc they are bigger then bullets.

Hopefully mine will be running soon. Shortblock is a hop skip and a jump away from being complete. Once I measure and order pushrods and a couple of other minor things I will have everything to complete the motor. So then its just finding the time to get it reassembled and stuck back in. LG is good with N/A cars. Not sure id send anyone to them with any kind of force induction. I went with outonyou to LG to have his turbo camaro tuned and they wernt really setup to read boost or anything.

I have had 2 different cars tuned by LG and a few mods performed by them also. They are great people and do good work, however their tuning was not the best in the world. Seemed to me that since I was not spending $10K plus they didnt spend quality time getting my car to my specs. I also had a car tuned by Jeff Creech at Thunder Racing and it was shitty.... plain Shitty! LMR (Houston) tuned my 08 Vette and did a great job but its a 10 hour trip and I'm not sure they do any better job than Greg Mcbride does. Just my 2c.......

well Im putting my carbed 350 together went and cleaned a guy out earlier for a 350 and two turbo 350s one built a little bit and the other stock. Tunnel ram intake with 650s, edlebrock toker and performer intake.

The cam I got also is a 510/533 lift cam also roller rockers and some other various motor stuff that never been opened and installed.

Sic I have some poly mounts you can have I gotta find them in the shed so don't hold me to it yet I'll look in the morning and let ya know.

I agree, they have done great work as far as mechanics of the car, however, the time Sean spent tuning my H/C/N2O car was just unacceptable, IMO. This lack of time showed as soon as I got home, used the nitrous on a slow interstate pull, MAJOR detonation.

Louis actually does great tuning from what I have seen, and has recently split from LG (his dads company) and partnered to open a new shop in Dallas.

I switched to Dallas Performance a couple years back and have been nothing but pleased. Taylor's attention to detail and knowledge is second to none, and I truly wouldn't take my Twin Turbo car anywhere else as long as he is conveniently and easily accessible.

Just get in touch with Greg on here he is MCBR1228 for a good tune. I think there are several from here in the area that can tell you he does a great job.

Ive been searching and cant come up with a solid answer. I have a 2000 lq4 6.0 and wanting to put a th350 behind it. I want to say it will bolt right up but im not 100% sure. Can anyone here give me a for sure yes or no? Thanks

Shane I don't see why it wouldn't. There's several guys on tech that are running that combo. Besides that if the T56 will bolt up then the TH350 should since they do those conversions quite often. What happened to the 4L80?

Nothing is wrong with the 80. Im going with the gmpp intake and msd setup so i cant use the 80. I know the th350 and 400s will bolt up and work but theres a big deal with the early lq4 having a longer crank or a spacer under the flywheel. My old lq had the spacer that could be removed. It was a 02 so idk if this has the spacer or the longer crank and if it even matters. BTW, im trading the 04 for a 77 firebird and going to put it on a strict diet with a little nitrous, gear, and a big stall. May even mini tub it for a set of 315s.

I am also looking for a good tuner new motor should be in this week will need tune looked at. Last time it was in a f-body it only went 6.80's at 102mph in the 1/8 at 3650lb race weight all motor. The truck it was in made a little less than 500hp to rear wheels and 730hp on a 150 shot. The little motor has been setting a good while hopefully it will still perform.

Old ls1 was running fine won the street radial class at Prescott's last efi class had a 145,000 miles on it that night. The new one should be a little faster than old cam only 346 on a 170 shot just on motor. Haven't decided what to do with the 346 might just hang on to it wll be complete less intake

na thanks. I got it in. I took it on base auto shop and drilled it. All i have to do is build sway bar spacer with 1"x1" square tubing and add oil! She will be back on road today! I need a adjustable PHB ASAP LOL rear sitting off lol it may rub on one side :(

I miss getting to go to car shows. I miss racing!! I miss alot of shit lol. I know once I get this damn truck back right the Mistress is goin under the knife for several things. I've been getting bored with the car, but I really think it's because it's been my main vehicle(thx to a divorce) for the past year and a half when it was just a weekend cruiser/racer. Bout another week on the truck hopefully and then I'm gonna be redoing alot of stuff on the car like maintenance, appearance, cleaning, and hopefully some go fast stuff :secret2: since a certain red SS is after me to redeem his loss :D

Of course this girl I've been dating for awhile now doesn't give 2 shits about this stuff, but I've made it clear that this is a hobby/passion of mine and always will be. As long as she doesn't get in the way or bitch about it then she can stay lol.

I pulled the 6.0 out of the beat up 04 silverado and swapped the truck body for this car. So..... the 6.0 is getting a gmpp intake and a hp 750 carb with a go fast carb spacer. I want to put a 4k stall and some 4:11 gears in it also. Should be a fun ride for sure. The car is very straight and solid. It dont have any interior in it so im thinking some plastic racing seats, a switch box, roll cage, and some oh shit straps.

This car is a 1977 skybird all power. It dont mean anything to me. I want a 77-78 6.6 t/a t-top. This will be my (race car) and i know where 2 6.6 cars are at for a pretty good price and they are 100% stock untouched cars. I may end up picking one of them up to resto after i finish the 68 c10. I have plenty of room to store classic cars now so i may start hording the cars i really like. for example 1970 split bumper camaro, 1972 nova/chevelle, 1977is corvette, thats just a few of the old schools that i like but havent owned yet.

Hope he is ok but after watching the video he had to of known he had a problem. I watched the video several weeks ago and there is no way i would have went back to the track with it lifting like that. It could have been prevented but again, hope he is ok.

Give this place a shot. It is just south of Carthage, Tx. They had a huge room that was filled from the floor to the ceiling with LS engines. I haven't been over there in about two years but they were very reasonable. I could have bought a complete 6.0 with harness, computer & everything for $1100. They had everything there. Vette, Camaros, T/A's, SSR's, Goats,Trucks.

That's it. Couldn't remember the name for the life of me.

Thats it wayne it will have my ls6 intake on for awhile. the motor picked up about 30 rwhp on just motor since that day will have to do a good bit of suspension work before it will go back on the bottle.

I wish the weather and track was a lot better, but once the rain came in Saturday night it didn't make for a good race Sunday morning. First pass Sunday morning I blew the tires off literally with a blistering 2.18 60ft!

Came back and watched a few dragsters go sideways down the track and then the track decided that it would be an "open time trial" session until some rubber laid down. I usually run 6.95 and Sunday the best I could muster in the weather and track conditions was a 7.03. Well once the track started coming around about 4th round it came back to a 6.97.

I ended up breaking out 4th round so I jumped over in the Test N Tune lane right before we loaded the car up to make one final shot at a 9 second pass. Only popped the limiter for a split second on the 1-2 shift and the rest was pretty good except for the AFR being way towards the rich side.

I think the car will get down in the 9.70 range on the 150 shot in some better conditions :D

This weekend was pretty wild with the weather and such though. Seems like TRRP needs some better employees. I don't know how many times we had to wait in the staging lanes because the guys on the line needed a bathroom break or went to get a drink. They could have at least had someone fill in their spot until they got back. It can't really take 15 minutes to get a drink....right? :chug:

I've got 2 pits and let me tell you to be ready...their big strong stubborn animals so training them is tough but once trained, they are the sweetest, most loyal and the best cuddlers. My male is 10 months and broke the welds on my metal kennel and chewed through my plastic one...I'm kind of at a loss of how to contain him....at least he's potty trained

That sounds like a cool project. I took a 110cc mini 4 wheeler chassis and mounted a 400cc Harbor Freight engine on it. It was like a death trap on wheels going down the street at 40 mph. JohnnyLT1Runner almost killed himself on it once while doing a top speed run with its "highway gear" installed....It won a few drag races on the street against bigger four wheelers with its "yard gear" installed....I wrecked it into another 4 wheeler that 1FSTZ and Hilton were riding while going down the street in front of about 3 cop cars (and I'm pretty sure we were drinking too:D) and tore a rear fender off when i hit them....and now it belongs to Hilton. Good times. :thumb:

My next project I think is gonna be something along the lines of a 400cc raptor frame with maybe a Gixxer 600 motor on it. That should be pretty spooky.

I need my bolt on lca relocation brackets welded on WONT FIT and i need adjustable panhard bar. I see what they say u need it if your lowered! when i hit big bumps the torq arm bottoms out because the rear sites to far to the driver side!

You pretty much need one with a 9" stock or lowered. I found that out like you but I already had one on the way just didn't make it in by the time I finished the swap.

it wasn't that noticeable b4 but my wheels are a inch wider and the new rear you can tell more. I would say it need to go to passenger side about half inch to a inch. Im looking at the Edelbrock on car Adjustable Panhard Bar. Its the one ive always suggested to other people when i installed parts for them its nice and you cant beat it for around 100-110$ shipped

Thats a decent price. I'm thinking of some custom centerlines in the future. I've always loved the finish on their wheels and they're lightweight which is a plus. Those will come in handy round that time.

Well went out on open road and got on it and all i can say is WOW these gears really woke up my car big time! The cam when you got it from TSP they said you will need 4.10 gears for the cams best results and with the new 4.30s yup they were right :) I was shock that how fast it got to 120mph

Its in a holding pattern currently. But don't worry that wont last long. I am gonna go ahead and put a nice coat of red on the block, oil pan, and valley cover early next week. I figure the bulk of the parts I ordered wont show until mid week anyway, so that gives me some time to dick around.:smokin2:

All the alu covers from some reason will chip and flake. I say leave all those covers natural but cleaned. If u did that with just a red block it wouldnt look good. The oil pan is right next to the road so its going to chip and flake not mater what u do and when it dose your not going to like it. The valley cover no one is going to see so no big deal unless u have a vic jr. One more thing please Do no paint the water pump red lol seen to many of them lol and didnt look good. But then again its not my car so do what u like :)

Once the accs get mounted, you won't hardly even be able to see the block from the top. So there will only be hints of red peeking out which will be perfect. And as far as the chipping/peeling/flaking of my paint jobs.....I could likely count on one hand anytime I have had any of those problems, and I paint everything I can get my hands on. Its like a disease with me :jest: Also, I drive my car maybe 1K a year, so getting dusty is more of a worry then rock chips :nod:

Prescott had a bad ass outlaw race tonight. They usually have bracket or index racing at the Thunder Jam. Wonder why not this year?

Anyway...drove my step dads 70' Camaro with a 383 and put it on the bumper tonight, I'll have a picture and videos tomorrow. It was a fun and wild ride. 1.34 60ft on those rear 28x10.5s sure are different! :lol:

Here's the only pictures I have, but the video my mom got was crap since she was more scared than me! I bet Paul got a good video that I can get tomorrow though.

Car came up great like it did every pass I looked towards the tree to see if it was starting to come down and it was still going up, went to shift into 2nd to bring it down and the damn thing just kept going up! It wiggled a little to the left and really had no choice but to ease out of the gas and sure enough it slapped the member and the oil pan drain plug. Other than that everything was good.

I got video of two runs of that Camaro or one that looks just like it, and a bunch of others... Trying to get my video editing software working right, so I can splice the videos together. I showed up at like 8pm or so, and hung out mostly by the bleachers next to the burnout box. I'm dissapointed we can't stand next to the concrete barriers anymore, would have made for good footage.
