Today I changed the plugs in my father's car and replaced the front left brake pad sensor. While I had the wheel off I cleaned and waxed the inside of the wheel. Still need to track down which pad sensor is bad. He had the pads replaced, but the "professional" who replaced the pads didn't replace the bad sensor. Thus the "brake pad lining" display when you start the car. He hates it. I'll do the other 3 wheels tomorrow or Thursday. We're trading back cars Saturday, so everything has to be done by then. I'm still tracking down a small coolant leak if anyone has suggestions.

Seems I wasn't the only one doing plugs today. Bet yours were easier.
Coolant leak could be alot of places. Have you checked the aluminum fins in the radiator? Does it have the plastic caps on the side? These two are usually the best places to start looking. The only other common place would be the weep hole on the waterpump. What kind of vehicle is it?

It's a 1998 740iL. Pretty nice car, but it's starting to show it's age. 140K. Yeah, the plugs were simple. EVEN easier than an LS1 engine. The radiator and the water pump were both replaced fairly recently. I'm betting on the thermostat housing. I just can't find the fluid anywhere. The oil looks fine, so I pretty much ruled out head gasket. It threw a code that made me think that the electric part of the thermostat needed to be replaced. I ordered the wrong damned part. The only car I've worked on that's more complicated than this on is the Volvo.

I put my Taylor 10.4mm wires on with some new NGK's today. WOW it was a noticeable difference compared to just stock wires and NGK's. You wouldn't think it would make that much of a difference, but it did. Not really power wise, but throttle response and engine rev was noticeably different.

I haven't started it because I've taken off all the crap that's above the thermostat housing. Seriously, it's a lot of stuff to remove just to be able to SEE the thermostat.
I'm going to do the other 3 wheels this afternoon. Probably just clean the sensor off and put the car back together. There's no way I can get the right part shipped to me before Saturday.
