General LSX Automobile Discussion - trans am or ss

Im thinking about getting a ls1... plz give me some input... im gonna put those c6 chrome z06 rims on it... 01-02 trans am or 01-02 Camaro ss.. i really like those 02 camaro's the red with silver stripes.... plz help me...

it's all about personal preference. i don't think anyone's opinion should be able to sway you. you really can't go wrong with either, unless you prefer the styling on the camaro over the trans am or vice versa i would get the one you find a better deal on.

I always have a preference for the one that I don't currently have. It's a personal thing, but I would have to say TA this month.

I have had 3 Camaros and 3 TA's and my last 3 have been the TA WS6's. I like the styling all around better on the WS6's and they seem to have been a tick faster than my friends SS's but not much so if its performance you are asking about, they are not different. Same car, different looks

ss, trans ams are for old ladys, there like 10 ws6's local and the owners are all females over 40

I was going to buy a black trans am, but then i saw a 02 SS and bought that instead...they are all the same, just get the one you find a better deal on and be smart about it

IMO for aggressive looks and styling definately the t/a but the ss still looks mean and simple...or go get a z28 for less and mod the **** out of it and every 16/yr kid with one will piss his pants

SS's are everywhere around here too. Not many WS6s. Mine is the only NBM I have seen in the area. I prefer the WS6 over the SS and I have had both. But, you should be able to get a better deal on an SS. If I were you I would get the one that is the best deal for the money. Both are great cars. You can't go wrong either way.

thats a hard question. I've always loved the ram air WS6 and love my car to death, but I can't say enough good things about the way the SS looks. Both are great cars. I think my next toy might be the 35th SS, in 5 yrs when I get my TA paid off haha

But I 'd have to say get a TA, they just look sooo good

I have always loved the ws6 as well it just looks mean but there are quite a few of them around but theres quite a few SS's around also. Another thing I personally think you can do alot more apperance mods to the camaro and make it look sick. Us trans am guys are pretty limited unlike the camaros which offer quite a few different things. I love both cars equally the reason I have a ws6 is it was in good shape for what it was and the price was right and I could not find a ss in my price range in good to fairly good shape. The ss was my first choice however but I started leaning torwards the ws6 so either car is awesome and you wont make the wrong choice

i'll give a bump to the black trans am.

i was recently forced to make the same decision. i could not find an SS that i liked, so i went with the black trans-am and i'm glad i did.

IMO the Z28 looks like a 6 cyl.

If I was you I'd just go with the best deal regardless if its a Pontiac or Chevy.

The Trans Am is a bit heavier but looks better with better interior and you gotta love the Ram Air Hood. You can get one for a Camaro but it's not the same. I have the best of both worlds...Camaro with TA dash. It really doesn't matter.

agreed. the t/a seats are amazing. the camaro seats are re-hashed 3rd gen seats. no bolsters, cheaper leather, less comfortable.

the t/a dash lighting up orange is also a plus. the vents being round is a matter of preference.

i LOVE the SS camaros. that hood is mean, and nothing beats a true chevy SS... it's a cultural icon.

for me however, the interior of the SS camaro is much like the interior of my '00 Sten ZR2.. and one is enough :)

i may be a cranky old 26yr old, but the dash on my 89 formula 350 way back when i was 16... man that was a cool dash.



i really wanted a ram-air car, but nothing in my price range seemed to be a car i wanted. all had too many miles, too many scratches, too many issues.

i went with the t/a, and i'm running 9.5" wide ZR1 wheels with 38mm backspacing (nicer looking than WS6 wheels IMO) and i'll add the hood shortly.
though not a true WS6, it will look the part, and that's really all it is... a bunch of aesthetic mods.

Wish I had a ram air hood, other than that I love my TA

My vote is for the Trans Am, obviously biased. The dash is 10x better in my opinion and the T/A looks more aggressive. Whichever way you go, you will not be disappointed!

i had a red convertible camaro and thought it looked great. now that i have my white ss, i think my old camaro looks not so good in pictures.

if i could, i'd pick up a trans am and lower it. trans am really has a unique look that just gets better when you lower it imo.

If you like the women get a WS6 Trans Am women seem to like them better then the camaro's no offence but ive had both and Chicks Dig the Bird:D

I got a trans am.. but im leaning towards the ss.. idk always been a camaro fan just ended up with a bird. I thinkin about gettin an 2002 ss camaro orange with the chrome rims...man daddy likes.

Camaro. They have many more appearance options that look good. I think you can customize way more on them.

trans am, look meaner/better. the ratio for camaros to trans am on the road where i live is at least 10:1

I've owned Camaros and Firebirds. If you don't have a personal preference on which looks better than get whatever you can find that is cheaper. If you need someone to tell you what to buy then I guess you can thank god you didn't go to a Honda forum and ask what your next car should be.

Trans Am BY FAR for a couple reasons..........Better...bumper, headlights, hood, fenders, panels, whole rear end, gauges, wheels. I'll give the SS the BA spoiler, but over a TA thats about it. I'm not meanin to bag on Camaros, there alright, I just prefer the Trans Am. Another main reason is I could count 2 Camaro's for every 5 minutes of driving and probably see one other TA a day.

I was in the exact same boat as you a year ago, for me it was either a black SS or a black TA, couldn't find a black SS in my price range, so i got my black TA. Although i was kind of dissapointed because a black SS with black ZR1's was my dream car for a long time Im glad i got the bird...I parked next to my buddy's black CME SS the other day and i definetely thought mine looked better IMHO
