Default I hate doing valvesprings

But after 2 hours of dickin with everything, I got my drivers side valvesprings done, and longtubes on. I wanna hear my car run so bad tonight with the new cam, and headers, but god I dont know if I have it in me to do another set of springs and longtubes on the passenger side!

Wait till you get to the rear of the passenger side. Are you using the Crane Tool that does two springs at once or the lever type to do one at a time?

Resist the temptation to over do it. My advice would be when you get tired call it quits and come back to it. Trust me.

Note the passenger side header goes in EASIER than the driver's side header. I put it in and was like WTF? That took all but 1 try to get it up, and about 10 mins of tight space wrenching.

Really? The drivers side one wasnt too bad, I went in from the bottom, had to grind a little tab off the side of the block, but I probably wouldnt have had to if the car was actually more than a foot off the ground. Looking at the pass side, it looks like a pain.

doing springs is a bitch, but trust that you'd much rather be upgrading them now than dealing with a broken spring

I recommend the Crane tool for valvesprings... Makes it sooooo much easier. I did 3 cylinders with a screw type compressor, and it took me half the time to do the other 5 with that Crane tool. It was almost too simple... I kept thinking to myself, "It cant be this easy... I gotta be doing something wrong..." But it really is that easy.

Crane tool = huge time saver. To hell with the screw compressor type...not only did that take forever but I also shot one too many valvesprings/retainers across the garage.

Good to know theres an easyish way to put them on. What about a video or sound clip of your car? Also do people sell these tools when they get done?

Never have had any problems with getting the headers on..no grinding or fighting to get them up in place...if I did not have someone under the car holding them up when I bolted them on they would fall out on the floor...if your tired call it a day..the second head will be better than the first because you have gotten comfortable with what you need to do for your installation..the number 8 is a little cramped but with the right tool it is not bad...be positive in your thoughts before you start..
