Thumbs up Dyno tune time: Make a Guess

Hey Guys, my car is going down to East Side to get tuned on Friday. What I would like is guess and predictions on the power out put. I will provide as much info as I can based on what I have and a previous dyno pull.

The Car:

2002 Pontiac Trans-Am (NON-WS.6)

SLP Flow Pack (Lid, Smooth bellow, Sheet metal Duct, and SLP Blackwing filter)
T-56 Six Speed w/ Billet Steel Flywheel
3" Steel DriveShaft
Moser 12 Bolt w/ 4.10 and Tru-trac diff
Dynatech SuperMaxx Header kit w/ Their Highflow CAT
Corsa Cat back exhaust
Stock Intake Manifold (LS6)
Untouched TB
Stock Rockers
Stock Crank Pulley
Stock Waterpump
NGFK TR-55 Plugs, gapped to stock, z06 plug wires
Free Mods: Descreened MAF and Free Ram Air mod
Coolant still runs through the TB

Currently Untuned

On the previous dyno pull and at that time it was BONE stock except for the Flow Pack and a stock driveline. It was on a Super Flow Dyno.

324 RWHP

346 RWTQ

I am having Eastside do 2-3 pulls to show the untuned power w/ the new bolt ons and driveline

Then after that, tune and re-pull

So if you want to guess list it like this

Un-tuned RWHP:
Un-tuned RWTQ:

Tuned RWHP:
Tuned RWTQ:

My Guess

Un-tuned RWHP: 335 hp
Un-tuned RWTQ: 355 tq

Tuned RWHP: 345 hp
Tuned RWTQ: 360 tq

So basically you got a 12 bolt and headers along with a tune, that will be added to your last number's.

I'm gonna say 338/352, tuned

You might loose alittle torque with LT's on a stock motor. You know your gonna loose a bit with the beefier rear, maybe even your new clutch might play a factor, I dunno.

Also a different day will cause different results. But I know we are just guessing

your an auto. 6 speeds dyno higher.

im going to say
your 345-350 and about 350 tq tuned.
the 12 bolt is throwing me a loop, without it same mods ive seen 363 on a 01 ta. so its hard to say, i never accually saw a 12 bolt back to back with a 10 bolt, same car same mods just a rear swap. so im not 100% what it will really loose

I would like to see a back to back with a Moser 12 bolt, Ford 9" and a new Dana and even a strange 12 bolt, it be nice to know the drive train loss.

I heard the Dana w/ a posi is surprisingly almost as efficient as the 10 bolt. Just weighs a butt ton more.

Of course the 9" takes a power hit.

There are so many different configurations though, I mean one 9" could be more efficient than another, Posi/Spool/Locker, aluminum center, axles (gun drilled), splines, etc. Even a different tire/wheel or a pinion change can make the number's slightly different.

Thy dyno is just a tool and we are only talking peak #'s. I'm sure the car will be a lot nicer to drive after the tune

If it's real cold out friday you'll get some good #'s. For some weird reason the Dynojets get screwy when they are cold.

Well since it's a "non-WS6", I'm going with 310/290.....

Honestly - I'm gonna guess untuned about the same as previous dyno. The gain from the full exhaust will get washed by the heavy driveshaft, 12-bolt and gears.

After the tune, 335/350. If you have a STRONG car, maybe 340rwhp, but I wouldn't expect it unless that stock tune is really killing you.

I think you are viewing things optimistically, but I'm hoping for the best for you.

FWIW Aaron my car made 358 rw adn 368 tq with the 10 bolt, but that was with a pulley, lid, and qtp headers Y pipe and a LM1 catback.

It works out perfect because the gains in power from the cold air help give you an ego boost to compensate for the shrinking member...plus the hard nipples give the ladies something to grip
