Default Cam help

I recently purchased a 02 model Z71 that has a 5.3 in it. Can someone tell me a cam that will help out a little without installing a stall or possibly without installing new springs? I can do with installing springs just dont wanna do a stall. Thanks

springs are just about a MUST on any cam. even though the lift may not exceed the stock limits, you'll want the extra pressure to make sure you don't get any valve float.

even an inexpensive set of LS6 springs or some comp 918s

any of the cams in the low 22x range will do nicely in the engine.

how much power are you trying to make? it may be doable with some simple bolt ons.

i'd recommend a smaller cam, try the old man's cam from Thunder Racing . . . btw your manifold isn't exactly the best flowing thing no offense, from what i've read the LS1 manifold's flow better and the LS6 flow even better. if you go bigger on the cam and you might just need LT's for your engine to breathe better.

i've heard of people using camshafts out of stock F-bodies LS1 motors and installing them in their Chevy/GMC late model trucks 99-02's and maybe some newer models as well. some people claim 15 hp and more tq .

people sell those cams dirt cheap . i like to get rid of mine ,but the shipping would cost more than the cam is worth due to the weight .
