street killer
its that time to buy a turbo. Need help! Looking for 850-1000rwhp on a forged 348ci this is a street car so I need a quick spooling turbo. Its a 6speed with z06 cam and truck manifolds. Would a turbonetics gtk 1000 be good?

one thing i can gaurantee is you aren't going to make 1000rw with a turbo making 1000fw.
it would take an extremely special 76mm to make 1k on the tires at your cubes.
it took me a pte-88 to do it but spool was not so awesome with the 6 speed, though i thought the power was very useable compared to my 76mm which came on too quick and blew the tires off (making more tq and less power)

Why do you feel you need anywhere near 1000rwhp for a street car ?
I dont have that much, and I can easily break traction til about 150mph on normal road tyres.
Fun in some ways, but for a fast road car, it is rather pointless........even if I do want more power lol.

you guys are right about the hp level. I guess what I am saying is I would like 7-850whp for the street an able to put some race gas in for the track and run around 1000hp

You need to consider what your goals are (since you'd be annihilating tires and/or other common street cars with less power). If you're wanting to run with bikes and exotics on the highway, 750/750 through a 6 speed will get you there even in a heavy full weight car. If you want ET then start pulling weight and change to an auto and get those cars/bikes out to the track and race em

Using 850rwhp on the street is allot and good luck hooking that, thats a challenge at its own at the track. I am shooting for 1000hp at the track but won't come near to using that bosot level on the street. Not even 3/4 of that. Probably about 600-650rwhp I'd imagine. About 12psi on pump will be plenty enough You notice most street vids on here from 1000hp cars are toying around on 8-10psi, not the boost level that made them the max power on the dyno. 1000hp is too much for the street IMO, either 650-1000 your are just spinning regardless Unless we're talking on the highway from a roll but I want to see myself atleast hit 30, HAHAHAHA

I would say hooking tires on the street with 800 hp is very doable, just depends on the setup. I do it all the time. As mentioned above a small turbo with instaspool, would be the kiss of death. Where as, a larger turbo with a gradual spool over a 3-400 rpm would be able to hook. Even from a slow roll on the street, say 20-30 mph, I can brake spool to 11-12 lb and when I nail it, it will barely shift. Now I do have the 325 MT streets. I don't think you could hook any street tire.
