i paid about $90 for mine on ebay. theyre just the black ones with the writing in red helped the looks of my engine alot. heres the link to the ones i bought.

FYI, those single slot covers are NOT a good starting point for anyone wanting to make their own. It's so deceiving, that so many sellers on eBay list them as F-body application, yet don't know the details on how to make them fit.
If you are gonna do it yerself, use the 97-99 two slot covers for a starting point.

I'd say spend the extra money and buy pre-cut custom aftermarket ones.

If you buy the corvette ones you have lots of trimming and trial fitting to do. The right side seems to be the easy one. The left FRC I still have no freaking clue how it's going to fit on mine. I'm taking it as trim a little off then trial fit then trim more. Work wise I feel that it would have been easier just to buy aftermarket ones. Maybe some of the guys who have bought them from like Afterthoughts auto can chime in on how their pre cut FRC's fit out of the box. Awhile back someone posted pics of FRC's they bought from a guy in which he trimmed the whole left FRC back side off, I totally see how he ended up doing that.

so what makes oem ones not fit well? are camaro/firebird ls1's placed furthur back than a corvette?

I don't think the LS1 in a vette sits a 1/4 under the cowl so the wires, cables, and tubing are placed differently than on a Corvette. Thus to make them fit you have to trim around all of that stuff.

From what I remember all had to trim was for the throttle body and put a notch in it for the oil stick. Other then that they clipped in.

if you did not delete the AIR system then youll need to trim for that.

Mine that I'm working on now I trimmed just the rear like the pic above, drilled a hole for the oil dipstick and hen cutout for the throttle cable & bracket, simple. But everything is completely stock on my car so on the left side I've had to trim the slim parts of the slots for the two fuel lines, but at the back I'm having a ton of issues with tubes that run towards the bottom area of the FRC's there. I haven't checked the left side since I trimmed a bit at the back last but it just seems like a total PITA to get it to fit.

im just seventeen and did it with a dremel tool and a little patience. took me bout thirty minutes.

here you can see on mine that all i did was make a slit for the throttle body cable bracket.

well i dont have any emissions on my car so that wouldnt be an issue

haha yeah. long story.....haha wear safety glasses when you do this cause hot plastic dosent feel good on the eyelid, it will also startle you and mess up your cutting.
