Default Swapped from 2.73 to 3.73

Is it just me...or does is there just not much difference? LOL

Driving around town it feels exactly the same.... On the interstate the RPMs at cruising speed are obviously different, but other than that...doesn't seem much different.

1.0 gear ratio is a lot, it may not seem like a lot but if you raced your car against your car, with a 2.73 vs. 3.73 and both cars hooked equal, the 3.73 would spank your ***.

Next mod you should think of is a torque converter.

From 2.73 to 3.73, you should be able to feel a big difference, even at half throttle. Make sure your pcm is calibrated for the swap or it won't shift correctly.

thats what im debating on right now. i got 2.73 and switching to 3.73. i kinda like my 2.73. its still pretty torquey and pulls pretty good and good gas mileage. im sure the 3.73 would feel like it pulls more. which would be better for a roll race 2.73 or 3.73?

8.35 vs. 11.41 1st gear ratio, that's a huge difference.

Maybe you didn't have 2.73's if you didnt notice the difference. I sure did, picked up 7 tenths with a 20 degree drop and the swap only!

The speedometer is set right, I have a predator programmer. Should I adjust the MPH shift points?

I went from 2.73s to 3.73s and it was a WORLD of difference. My biggest problem was I cammed the motor at the same time and added bolt ons and WOW needless to say the tires took a beating.

I agree with setting the torque parameters in PCM/ECM because if you dont your going to hit rev limiter all the time and could do damage to your valvetrain.

Hard to think you don't feel a huge change. Should be day and night from a stop. Sure you didn't put the old ones back in? lol. Just joking.
