intake on smokinhawks car
in the truck manifold how to section, there are pics of smokinhawks turbo set up. the intake looks like a victor jr with a throttle body on it. ive seen it on other cars too. is this what it is? do you have to get it tapped for the injectors? what about using that intake and the pcm? im new to this so i was just wondering. is this better than like a FAST intake? thanks!

u can order the victor jr. already tapped for the injectors and it also comes with the fuel rails.the reason most people use the victor jr. is because of the boost they plan on running. the fast intake is hit or miss at higher boost.however for heads and cam the fast intake is very good.

so you mount a throttle body on the top then? do alot of turbo people do this? i believe you run a small duration cam for a turbo. wouldnt the victor jr be higher than most turbo cams? i could be wrong. im new to all this. lol would that work good on a street/strip car or most full race due to the high rpms? thanks

off the top of the manifold most use an intake elbow, then u mount the throttle body to that.a turbo cam is not all about small duration.the victor junior starts picking up power a little higher in the rpm range , but usually u are seeing the most airflow from the turbo higher in the rpm range anyways.however u dont need a victor jr., a lot of people are making big power with an ls6 intake, so if u already have an ls6 could use the money somewheres else

im prob going to put the l92 heads on it and the l76 is the only intake for it right now. if they makke a victor jr for them, woulthat be a better choice? what is the rpm limit of a typical l76 or ls6 intake? arent the itakes carbon fiber? wouldnt that decipate heat better? thanks

They're polymer not carbon fiber. They might dicipate heat better, but on a high horsepower or drag only setup it's not as big a factor as a street car. The LS6 won't bolt up to the L92 heads only the L76.

i know that the l76 is the only one now until the aftermarket catches up. would it be good for a street car to run the single plane? hey smokin, so it wasnt as good as the ls6 for your car?
