Look on http://www.car-part.com/. Thats where I found an LQ4 for my '83 Monte. It does a search in almost all of the local junkyards.

I cant seem to find anything but shortblocks from junkyards, and most want cores back, or 1,000+ for the shortblock, and i have no use for the stock internals.

IMPULSE: Try: Nordstrom's Automotive Inc. in Garretson, S.D. 1 866 5944148. They specialize in current, and almost current GM model yr. salvage vehicles w/less than 100 miles. Many new GM cars/trucks totalled during transport, etc end up there. (hitting low bridges, etc.) I've found great prices on big items w/fair shipping prices from them. They advertise on Ebay almost expressly. Best wishes. WJ

I have an LQ9 block that I've been holding on to with hopes of building a 408, but I doubt I'll be doing it anytime soon as I just bought a house. I keep the cylinders and internals coated with oil to keep it in good shape. It's been stored in a Summit engine bag in my basement for about a year. So, it's your for $250 and you come pick it up. I'm located a couple of hours north of you.
