Hey everyone. I have been reading articles on ls1tech for years, and was registered as ryans99z71 back when I was into the lifted scene. Anyways, my dream car was always an SS (perhaps an older one though :) ) and after I graduated from college I went all the way to Maryland to buy her. I got a 2002 SOM Camaro SS M6 vert. She is beautiful and had only 10k miles when I bought her. Anyways, I'm getting to the point now where the tech articles and such are more relevant to me now, so I have started a new account and look forward to everyones articles, posts, and advice. Thanks again for running the best site on the web!

Ryan

That is a very nice car you have! If you have any more pics, post up in the Appearance or Southern section. Any mods, times, plans for it? Also, have you heard about F-Body Beach Week?

thanks for all the comments guys. I have a ton of pics but am working 5 12hr night shifts in a row at the hospital so I will post up some pics this weekend. I didnt know about the beach week deal, whats up with that? I plan on taking my car to Williams Perforamance in May to have a ton of stuff done. Right now just stock SS with SLP chrome wheels and SLP grille. I plan on doing kooks headers, ory, gmmg exhaust, fast intake with custom throttle body, stat, etc. They really know there stuff up there and I have been wanting to mod this baby for the past year. I'd love to be able to meet up with other f-bodies and check out the different rides. My cuz has a 02 WS6 with some beautiful z06 chrome wheels on it. Anyways, let me know about the meetings coming up.

There's alot of Carolina car forums such as the one listed above as well as www.scfyb.com mostly people from Myrtle Beach area and www.carolinarides.com. A lot broader forum with many people from all over N & S carolina. F-Body beach week is basically a gathering of F-Bodies at Myrtle Beach with a car show, cruises, meet, pics, all sorts of stuff. You should see updates in the southern section of this site as well as updates on other site posted in this thread as the dates draw nearer(sometime in July)

I'm in Aiken, SC across the river from Augusta, GA. My car should be all ready to go for the F-body beach week. I'm in the Lexington/Columbia area fairly often. I might have to come check out the 'vert:drool:

i finished college at USC Aiken. I grew up in Edgefield, so needless to say I spent most of my time in Augusta. I'm in Irmo, SC now on Lake Murray, almost on the dam. Shoot me a line whenever ur out this way. My car should def. be done for beach week, but Im just not ready to get "into" the motor, i.e. new heads, etc. and I def. aint into NOS. The package Im looking at would have my dyno'd in the 430s for hp, and over 410lbs torque, plenty of power for me for my crusin vehicle!

welcome to the site....im from the upstate area. if youre just sticking with bolt-ons....the FAST intake isnt really worth the money, youre LS6 is just fine. and you're not gonna see 430/410 with just bolt ons like you are wanting. with the bolt ons you listed youll prob be in the 350-360 rwhp area.

^^^ Agreed. Unless you are big heads and cam a FAST 90/90 isnt worth the money.

well the shop said they def could get my 400+ with custom cam, headers, exhaust, pulleys, tune, etc. To get to the 430s or so I would have to do the afr heads and FAST intake. All this work was more expensive than I thought, but i still may be doing it aound may.

well you said youre not ready to "get into the motor" yet and a cam would quailfy as internal work...i thought you meant strictly bolt-ons and achieving that power.

thanks for all the props and comments guys. I bought the car in Germantown, Maryland. It was a fun road trip in my cuz's WS6. Ive been talking to Williams Performance in NC but also am in contact with Tick Performance in NC. I'm kinda thinking I might do heads afterall. And RedRallyeZ, I dont need any football advice even though you caught on to the true meaning of my name.....I am a die hard S. Carolina Gamecock fan, not cocky in real life. But I would like to know, what redneck came up with Sugartit, SC?:gtfo:

and TwistedSS, Im in Yacht Cove in Irmo on the lake right before the dam. I would love to see your car! Even though I loved SOM once I saw it in person, white has been the color of every vehicle I have ever owned, and the color of my current 91 K5.
