Street Racing & Kill Stories - got walked

we went to the F-body/ford meet down in Fullerton tonight(any LA members there?). on the way back i raced my friend jerry who has a later model z28. as far as i know he has lid, tb, intake, exhaust and now a built 9" ford rear end. i went to fourth and i dont know yet which gear he went into. he hit it then i did and he steadily walked away from me. i had the window down and that thing sounded so mean. im sure hes gonna talk a lil shit now lol. im gonna try to race him from a slow roll later on.

Its Cool man, Happens to all of us. Next time just roll the window down and yell " I'LL BE BACK!!!!"

with that built rear end i would say he has a litte more than he enlightened you on. most people dont change rear ends without the need to (too much power to launch on stock ten bolt) and to walk away from an 03 coba with those mods...sounds like he has a little more.

What he said. He must be making some serious power to swap to the 9". Then again, those rears are known to break on stock 6sp, but unless you need the driver mod he cannot run you down with only those mods listed.

why not? if he had gears in the 9' and the cobra was stock. I pulled 2 cars on a stock cobra with those mods. from a 40

well a couple people back up what mods he says he has. he broke the factory rear end and twisted the drive shaft launching on slicks a lil while back. he said he paid 3 grand for the new rear end.

i dont have his number so i sent him a message on myspace to ask him if he went into 3rd of 4th.

im pretty sure we were inbetween 65-75. i figured if i went into 3rd i would only have like a second and a half to wind it out so i just hit 4th. i'll try to get him to do a slow roll with me next time.

im probably one of the most honest guys when it comes to racing. i used to get super butthurt about losing a race but its not that big a deal anymore. dont get me wrong, i was a lil like "fuck" when he beat me lol, but i think it might have been a lil different if i had hit 3rd.

my mods are clutch, x pipe, and mufflers.

either way your best bet is top end rolls (60-70)
ive noticed(from previous races) that cobras usally pull harder on top end

The whole line of cobras and mach 1's parked to the side made it look like alot . It even scared me to go check them out.... one was asking to race for cash I was like HELL NO!..... the cops were all over that place....:bang: plus that black KB or whipple cobra was just mean...

i know some lil kid with a "stock" cobra wanted to run me. I was like "can you even reach the pedals in that thing" lol...poor guy was like 4'11. im 6'2 :punch:

if u were in 4th gear as well, then u have bragging rights after beating me. u only have basic mods. and i only have clutch, x pipe, and mufflers

haha the only thing im going to brag about is that my cutout was closed and my car is actlly running like crap (oxy code bank 2 sensor 1) pretty sure you could hear/ see it poping when i hit full throttle(with the cutout open) when we got on the freeway when leaving the meet

i forgot to use your code reader to see why my service engine soon light was on. could i use it this weekend?

cool. how much does it help having the cutouts open?

most people say like 5-7 horsepower but in reality i dont know but i use it because my flowmaster is really restricive
