Default real low vacuum after cam install

I bought a 2002 LS1/4L60E out of a wrecked camaro with only 500 miles on it. Before I put it in my 68 camaro I installed the hotcam and springs. I have got it running good(except for the normal idle problems I need to get tuning for). The problem is I only have about 14 inches of vacuum at idle.(I need at least 18 for power brakes). Is there something I could have done wrong to cause this? I have the pcv hooked up and have the small vacuum port on the back of intake capped off. I also have the port on the front drivers side of the intake capped off. I did not remove the intake when changing cams. I'm sure I got the timing marks lined up right. What else could there be? I'm at my wits end trying to figure this one out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John

14 inches is good with the Hotcam(it is not the best idle cam)You could try raising the idle or use a resivor brake vacuum canister.

My F1 cam only pulls 6-8lbs at idle
