how can i make my fans come on when the car is running?
i currently have the manual fan switch and i forget to turn it off sometimes and runs the battery down. plus i wanna sell the car soon and the manual fan switch doesnt sound too good. i'd rather have it rigged up to come on by itself. what wire would i have to tap into? its a 98 firebird 3.8

with the manual switch does it not still come on when it needs to?

You can get a generic thermostat switch at most auto stores and wire it to your manual switch if you can't get it fiqured out.

it works fine. i just dont want a manual switch anymore. i wanted to rig them up to come on right when the car starts. my 87 mustang gt does that..right when you start it, the fan comes on full speed. trying to do that on my 98 firebird 3.8

Leave the switch turned on and wire it to an ignition source then. Hide the switch.

does your car have power windows? if so you could run your power wire to the manual switch from that fuse. Same idea with the ignition fuse. Either one would work because they are things that only receive power when the car has the key turned on
