Default different struts for VFN hood

I need weaker struts for my new VFN fiberglass hood... where can I get some? I thought my 130k hood struts would be weak as hell by now, but to no avail... anyone else actually had damage from the struts?

There was an old thread about this that went unsolved I believe, but since then i haerd that VFN upped the strength of their hoods so that stock struts ar not a problem....

I swear my ss struts are lighter than my Z28 struts were.....the shop even told me they were....ss struts should be fine, even though many people say they are the same as Z28/v6 struts

Have been using the stock struts on my VFN Sunoco hood for the last 3 years. I have yet to see any issues using the stock struts.

There is no reason to change your struts. The hood will hold up fine.

^^ Yeah, I have heard that since this problem occured, VFN has upped the strenth of their hoods so that they can be used with stock struts and not get damaged....

So VFN found they had a issue 2 years ago atleast? And they fixed that issue then. So new owners of the hood should have no problems?
