Street Racing & Kill Stories - Bran new Roush 427R bites the dust,

alright so im on my way to best buy and i spot this car coming the opposite way, so i flip a bitch, and catch up, and just happen to be a stop sign, so i ask the guy to roll down his window, and then ask him if he wants to race, he said sure why not? anyways we went from a dig and he spun i hooked and i killed him by at least 5 cars, and i let off, we came up to another stop sign and he was pretty pumped and said damn your car is fast, i said that wasnt really a good race do you wanna go again, and he said hell yeah,

so i turn around and we go back up the hill from a stop this time he catches traction a little better than i do and he pulls my car a half car length and then i hold him right there, and it seemed every time he shifted gears i would gain a couple inches on him, and we did this to about 3rd, by the time we hit 100 , which is where we agreed to stop becasue of saftey or what have you, i had him by a fender, all in all nice car, but i was expecting to beat him by more lol, anywas i guess the supposedly 427 hp mustang cant handle gm's 6 year old 345 hp,

im just waiting to destroy the gt 500, all in time,

1.fat driver
2.air freshner
3.nice paint
thats about it, the car is 100% bone stock,

lol, my 4.10 rear end blew up this weekend in santa maria ca, while street racing some dumb honda's still won lol, so yeah this is stock 3.42's, so this is a legit stock race, no nothing on this car

i dont think so, he traded in a m5 for it, so he has had experience with fast cars, and he drove just fine from what i saw in my rear view mirror,anyone that can keep "427hp" sticking to the street with stock tires, and beat my car off the launch can drive pretty well, my car does low 1.8's on street tires, not great but deff not bad for stock,and i know when i hear a little pony being rung out to the limiter,

i run 1.8's with the 3.42's, and the last time i went to a 1/4 track i had a 2.2 60', 8.9 1/8 and a 13.4 at 109

that was my first and last run at the 1/4 but that track is a dump. on the 1/8 mile track i go consistently stock
1.8 60, and 8.4 at 89mph, so i know my car can go 12's on a good 1/4 track

Actually, I'd say 80% of stock Gt500 owners would be happy to get low 13's. Many can't drive their way outta a taco bell. A stock GT500 with all the nannies on and on the street, from a dig, has as much chance of beating a forth gen f-body as the f-body has of beating it. At the track, with nannies off, the GT500 get's the nod, but only with a more experienced driver. Yes, the Gt500s are mid 12's cars stock, but thats not what the everyday driver gets out of them. Even the "best" mustang test driver ,Evan Smith, only pulled a 12.28 outta one, and that was after many tries and many mid range 12's, and it was a one time 12.28, not consistant. The GT500 is not the world beater Ford would have liked everyone to think it is,nor will be the KR(605bhp, 12.5 sec. magazine test..lol). Anyways, had the OP said he bested an early 2000's (03ish) Cobra, I'd probally say BS, but being a 427R, I'd say it's more than possible. The 427's are a bit slower than the GT500.

I agree..100%. But those special mustangs look so good!! Especially the Roush Stage 3. I mean how often do you get to race? Not often...you spend the rest of the time cruisin...and a roush and 427 look good cruisin. At least as good as a C6 IMO.

Actually, stock tire/stock Z's have hit the 10's a couple of times at over 126-127MPH. Mine is an stock ci LS2 on factory stock runflats. It's the only C6 (not C6Z06) to hit that ET with a N/A setup and on the factory tires.

Yea, I don't think Saleen has officially started rolling the 302's off the lot yet. But it definitely grabs me in every way a hell of alot more than any Roush made to date. The Roush is, pretty much like everyone here says.........pretty but slow (even the s/c ones).

i agree my point was that the lsx isnt the end all motor. some people on this board are blind to the idea that something can be faster. as far as the 32 valve being better im not so sure. both lsx motors and dohc motors are great but it would be better if you could sorta combine the two. lsx is great because of the amount of cubin inches you can generate. a dohc motor uses very good heads to compensate for the lack of cubic inches. also due to the design of the modular block you really cant do much in adding cubic inches just more boost. if you could get 400+ cubic inches and add a set of doch heads then youd be in business.

i agree my point was that the lsx isnt the end all motor. some people on this board are blind to the idea that something can be faster. as far as the 32 valve being better im not so sure. both lsx motors and dohc motors are great but it would be better if you could sorta combine the two. lsx is great because of the amount of cubin inches you can generate. a dohc motor uses very good heads to compensate for the lack of cubic inches. also due to the design of the modular block you really cant do much in adding cubic inches just more boost. if you could get 400+ cubic inches and add a set of doch heads then youd be in business.

Probably has something to do with how ridiculously-expensive the LT5 was. If all the development/production could be done in-house, it would work out a lot better.

Oh and for the record I have beaten a 03/04 cobra from a roll on the 118fwy. Not once but twice, 3 cars the first time and 2.5 the second. He had a passenger, I did not. I have a M6 with full exhaust and Lid. Is that too hard to believe?

this thread is hilarious...all it comes down to is this...these events happened whether people like them or not...even have some video and eye witnesses to give credibility/back up for these stories...maybe the other cars are faster...but it is on the street and if u cant drive well it doesnt matter what u race in...

we have a good racing spot up here thats in the middle of nowhere. theres a starting line marked along with a quarter mile mark. i heard that the locals have been racing there since the 70 or 80's. do yall have any good spots down there away from the city and traffic?

id expect you both to beat a cobra that never took it outa 6th gear running on 6 cylinders and the clutch was slipping i bet it was still a close on tho wasnt it. :punch:

the only consistent times i have are at an 1/8 mile track where i go 8.4's and 8.5's at about 88-89mph
